Help!!! Blue nail varnish on beige carpet

Quick- any ideas how to get quite a lot of bright blue nail polish off my daughters beige bedroom carpet? Had a quick go at blotting it up and then got nail polish remover on it but still looks awful. Any random ideas that are tried and tested???

I've found blotting with nail polish remover does work but takes lots and lots of time and patience. Keep changing the cloth. Provided the nail polish is transferring to the cloth then you will succeed (in the end!)

I think acetone is truly your only bet. You may need to go through more than one bottle of the stuff, and like 2cats said, you should change the cloth a lot to avoid just redistributing it.

Good luck!

Thanks. Is acetone something you can get hold of easily ? The nail varnish remover I was using was acetone free.

I think standard nail polish remover has acetone in it. I just googled and found out that the acetone-free stuff is gamma butyrolactone, and that is apparently a good solvent, as well. I would think that either one would work well.

(Wow. Apparently that stuff is the drug GHB. Who knew??)

Anyway, I would just buy whatever.
