Are oven shelves standard-sized?

I want to buy some new shelves for my oven - the roasting tin style solid ones - so I can maximise my batch cooking ability for things like sausages and veg. It's a Smeg oven.

Are oven shelves standard sized or do they vary?

alas they vary, by just enough to stop your lovely new shelves fitting.

Measure the one that came with it, precisely.

they vary
extending adjustable ones caan be flimsy.
correct ones from manufacturer are ridiculusly expensive.
good luck....agree with measure precisely Wink

I had a nasty feeling that would be the answer.

I want roasting tins so adjustable is no good as the fat would probably leak through the gap.

I really could do with 2 or 3 extra shelves, but we're planning to move house in May / June and I resent paying for shelves for just a few months' use.

Maybe I can find some really big roasting tins / baking trays.

Look on espares - I got new buttons for my oven and am going to 'splash out' on a grill pan. They have everything for loads of models.

Thanks - have asked on Freecycle, but nothing yet. That spares site is good - but Shock at the price - £56 each!

I think Smeg parts are probably particularly expensive - we had to get the LCD replaced a few years ago and you could have bought a new oven for the price. Hmm

I think I'll just buy some more roasting tins and see if I can get ones that fit two on each shelf.
