Best carpet cleaning detergent?

I have a Vax machine and I have so far used the stuff supplied/recommended (Vax Ultra+).

I need to get some more - I'm pretty happy with its cleaning capability, but I thought I'd ask first to see if anyone else has used it and found something better.

Or if you haven't used it, just if there are any carpet cleaning detergents out there that you absolutely swear by...

I have heard that some people use Persil Small and Mighty (is that the right name?) but have not tried it myself.

I like the Bissell ones - there are 2 I've used but I can't remember exactly which ones. Lakeland sell them.

Thanks for replying... I'd almost given up. I've heard that Bissell detergents can clog up machines a little - I'll research those a bit more before buying I think.

Do the Bissell ones work better as the water cools?

I am thinking of doing the car upholstry, which I think will be fiddly and take a long time.
