Black dots everywhere......Spider Poo?

missymoss · 15/08/2012 21:39

No-One at work believes me. I am being really honest & a little bit ashamed.

My conservatory windowsills are full of little black dots every morning, when I wipe them they are like tiny blood spots, About 10 or so, & they go a bit of a dark red colour, when wet.

I have also had this in other rooms, on duvet cover, photo frames ect.

A girl at work swears this is mould, It is definately not mould! As It is wet blobs Blush

Please assure me, Im not cracking up!

Thanks.

Have you got a cat?

sounds like flea crap.

[bitter experience]

Dead midges. The red blood ones are the ones that have bitten someone before they died (full of blood). They used to die overnight in my conservatory too.

I've got loads of these too. It's not fleas.
Dead midges you say?

Oh dear, 1 huge wolfhound cross ( 6 stone Grin) & 2 cats.

They are treated reguarly,as is the house, but I suppose It could be?

How the heck could they get on window frames ect? I suppose they jump high.

It drives me crazy, we have loads of huge spiders in here, a very old farmhouse, They love to run over me when relaxing with a wine!

I have seen spider traps on ebay, but they look like they are sticky. I dont want to kill the spiders. Just put them outside.

God, if its fleas I dont know how else to rectify it. I use Lavender cleaning spray as I thought It would deter them.

Thanks for answers though feels such a minger

If you check the cats you will see the blood in their fur, so you will tell quickly enough if that is it.

My cats sis on the windowsill so if they leave the spots I know I have to break out the Stronghold.

I think it's spider poo too actually. We have had them for years before we had a dog.

missymoss - we have a humane spider trap we bought from Lakeland - you just hoover them up and put them out. The sticky one is vile.

We get these too, OH says it's blood from the savage battle for survival spider's dinner. I agree hoovering won't get rid of spiders, they just crawl back out.

We have loads of these tiny round black dots sometimes in clusters of ten or so. We have spiders everywhere but we are also blighted by flies from the surrounding farms. It is most definitely poo from one or the other (I'd put money on it being the spiders). Clean off as soon as possible. Very hard to shift once it's hardened. Elbow grease and very hot water is the least harmful (to your window sills etc) method of cleaning, but when desperate I've used neat ammonia (be careful!) or Cif but that can dull UPVC window frames and gloss paint.

Could it be fly poo?

We used to live on farmland and the flys were everywhere in the summer and we got the little black poo dots everywhere on the windows and walls/paintwork. Well that's what the pest control people said it was anyway.

Is definately spider poo. I have a few house spiders that I tolerate as though I am not a spider fan I hate flies more. I get clusters of these under their webs and they do seem to be dried blood as you say, no doubt from the spiders diet of fly guts Grin

Its 'housefly' poo. I live on a farm and get loads. Usually attracted to white surfaces. Get loads on windows, wall paper and furniture. Mostly in a line.

When it gets warm its a problem. I have sticky fly papers around (white nice ones) and vacuum around windows to catch them.

Never heard of spider poo or seen it?????

It seems to stain clothing terrible.

I came to the conclusion through s process of elimination that those little browny dots are indeed spider poo!

Sorry to say this but could also bed bugs. Little black dots are one of the classic signs. I know this from my teenage bedroom having to be fumigated years ago and since then, there has been a global explosion... Is anyone getting bitten?

It's spider poo- we had a spider in the bath and there were lots of these droppings in the tub. Finally I built him a ladder and he escaped....to the shower where he left more poo. So I built him another ladder and he's finally gone off to do what spiders do.

I was cleaning my windows over the weekend and came across loads of black dots on my windows outside, so I asked google what this could be and it came back and said spider's poo, so naturally i wanted to know what could remove it and found it via google from a company called Caraselle Ltd, so I ordered a bottle and will let you all know if it removes the poo

Hi there.. I have been finding small black flecs on my window sill every day too. I've just been wiping them every day. I was thinking spider poo until I saw a mosquito, I don't get bitten but I see them daily. My flat is very damp and the windows are always wet in the morning. I've killed 2 in the last 24 hours and not had as many black specs this am. They are either mosquito poo or their eggs I believe. Try getting some powder to kill mosquitoes if your problem is larger.
All the best!
