For every game there are rules, right?
For every rule there is generally a loophole, right?
This registration lark and whole-scale interview/visit debacle is likely to take a little while isn't it?
I have a cunning plan
The fundamental problem for those of us who educate autonomously is that we can't say what our children will be interested in in the next year.
However, we have a unique opportunity here as the majority will be unknown to LA's.
They don't know what you did last year do they?
I'm going to submit a plan, which contains last years' aims (already met) and gather up all the evidence of visits we've done, photographs I took, crafty things we made, books we read etc, etc.
Then we'll continue to work autonomously and present last years work as the plan for the forthcoming year!
Admit it, it's genius.
Just because you HE autonomously doesn't mean you don't have evidence of education. Most of us take photographs, have guff from visits, the children themselves can often relay the information they have learned. Even if you don't, it's hardly an imposition to do so.
We can argue til we're blue in the face that it's wrong we face registration, visits and submission of plans, but at some point we won't have a choice.
I say we get organised and beat them at their own game.
