Should I be worried??

I deregistered my child and began HE just over a year ago, and have not yet heard from the LA. I also never received confirmation from the school Head that he had informed the LA, despite requesting this in my dereg letter to him. I'm sure he will have informed them, as mine is not the first child to go into HE from that school. Another child began HE just 3 months before us and had their LA visit after 6 months of HEing. Yet I have heard nothing at all in 13 months!
I am not keen on the idea of calling the LA to see if they have been told about us, as I'm sure they have. But should I be worried that we haven't heard from them yet???

NO!

Enjoy!
It was about that long before our LA got on touch with us, and I really hoped that the LA had forgotten about us!
The LA have never been able to give us anything that the HE community cannot and I have the hassle of sending in a report and educational philosophy and telling them each time, why we definately do not want to have a visit and will not be sending any work.
So yeh, enjoy your unknown status, is what i say.

Don't worry.
No news is good news!
My LA got in touch quite quickly requesting timetables etc, but I told them to leave us to settle in for a while. I didn't hear anything for another year! They are so busy dealing with truants, exclusions and SEN, we were at the bottom of their priorities.
It is the schools responsibility to inform the LA.
It might be an idea just to have your Ed Phil at the ready in case they spring something on you.

Phew! Thank you both for putting my mind at rest. And yes, good point about getting together an Ed.Phil. Will start having a think about that.
Thanks again!
