I say half way because although children don't have to be in school until their 6th birthday, and we don't have to apply for an exemption until then, most children here go to school the Monday following their 5th birthday.
Ds1 was 5 on Wednesday so in other families, come Monday, they would be putting on a uniform, packing a bag and heading off to school.
As it is, we're going to spend the day watching his favourite Tinkerbell movie and having a picnic at the beach (weather dependant, it is coming into winter now)
I'm patiently awaiting the "why isn't he in school" questions.
There is no other reason for sharing this except the fact that it's taken me a long time to get DP to agree to HE, which he did right at the last minute and I'm so happy (and so is ds1) that we can pretty much officially say that "we're home educating"
I will be hanging around on this board a lot now .
