Maths for Home Ed

I live abroad, and was actually a Primary School teacher.
I am currently buying in different programmes for Maths to begin Home Ed with my DD.
I am deciding between TeeJay or New Heinemann.
Has anyone had any experience with these? I used to teach SPMG / Heinemann maths, so know it. Although New Heinemann is quite a bit different.

What do others use?

We are going to use Math Mammoth this year. It can be downloaded onto your computer. We have done the first few pages of grade one and it is going pretty well. www.mathmammoth.com/

I just used the Letts books. Cheap, simple to follow and follow the key stage curriculum. Their mythical maths books are also good. CGP do key stage books which are similar to Letts and equally cheap.
I am not a teacher and found them very easy to teach my child from.
I prefer to teach from books rather than computer, but I think Khan Academy is suposed to be good and it's free.

I am a primary teacher too (well, doing music secondary now but was in my yoof and am still essentially primary trained). I used to love SPMG, I can't tell you how much! Those workbooks!

How old is your DD? Best I've found for primary now you can no longer get SPMG (sobs) is Bond No Nonsense or WHSmith Revise Maths series. Both of these are not as available as they once were. CGP has its merits but I found myself leaving out whole tedious chunks with DD.

Now she's secondary we continued with WHSmith to year 9 and have now moved to a whole motley assortment of GCSE books, none of which I'm 100% sold on.

I found new heinemann ok but a bit disappointing after SPMG, btw. Don't know the other one.

Thanks for your responses. I liked the look of Scottish Heinemann because it is so interactive, and the teacher file, while huge, is full of ideas!

DD will be school age next year, but need to get organised now so people can bring things out to us :)
