HecateHarshPants Mon 17-Sep-12 17:56:17

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 18:04:13

VivaLeBeaver Mon 17-Sep-12 18:31:56

Very good!

HotPinkWeasel Mon 17-Sep-12 18:31:57

You know this is YET ANOTHER example of HQ refusing to have humoured Honeydragon. Instead they beat her down and then it's Mnetters running amok causing chaos and mayhem. Again.

FancyPuffin Mon 17-Sep-12 18:33:35

I'll show you mine if you show me yours SPFanjo grin

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 18:33:58

HotPinkWeasel Mon 17-Sep-12 19:02:18

Hully you should have joined that hateful Honeydragon in her anti PO topic, now all the good ones will be gorn and the PO will win sad

Princesslovelyboo Mon 17-Sep-12 19:03:45

SP found you! grin please may I join this one too? I think I proved myself loyal!!!!

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 19:08:49

There is a completely empty topic called baby sleeping bags but to claim 2 topics would just be greedy!

A good way to find one is to click on topics A-Z wink

HecateHarshPants Mon 17-Sep-12 19:09:14

perhaps you have to be a local to understand it?

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 19:09:37

LBG advance search Anglesey!

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 19:10:45

Princess everyone is welcome here!

SomebodySaveMe Mon 17-Sep-12 19:11:37

Bollocks. Do the nursery run, cook dinner and miss all the action.

What the actual fuck has gone on with HoneyDragon?

FancyPuffin Mon 17-Sep-12 19:13:55

Some of the topics are actually selling pages and you have to pay £10 to post shock

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 19:18:39

Really! Bloody hell, no wonder it's empty!

Anglesey doesn't charge rent...

PurdyShaky Mon 17-Sep-12 20:39:27

That because it's pissing down there

Shaky Tue 18-Sep-12 19:25:50

Would anyone like to help me with a spot of decorating?

Shaky Tue 18-Sep-12 20:51:23

It's a bit bare in here and seeing as this is a home decoration topic, I think it could do with a lick of paint.

With the help of State and Empress, we have decided to go for a pick & mix theme.

I have plenty of wine and lemon drizzle cake.

All welcome smile

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Tue 18-Sep-12 21:07:03

Found you!
<puts down tub of sweets, bottle of wine and bag of brushes>

Shaky Tue 18-Sep-12 21:13:30

Welcome to my humble abode Empress

<passes glass of wine>

Thank you for the lovely housewarming gifts. You are so thoughtful.

<opens tub of sweets>

Shaky Tue 18-Sep-12 21:14:47

<remembers lemon drizzle cake and scuttles of for a plate for Empress>

LadyBeagleEyes Tue 18-Sep-12 21:16:45

<Wanders into thread>
Ooh, I like what you're doing in here Shaky.
BTW, you missed a bit.

Shaky Tue 18-Sep-12 21:23:39

Well hello LBE, welcome!

Have some wine, lemon drizzle cake and some sweeties.

Ah feck the painting, I just wanted a housewarming party!

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Wed 19-Sep-12 12:26:36

Thank you Shaky. Lovely cake!

CaptainSillyBeardyDaddyman Wed 19-Sep-12 12:29:20

Arrrrr! I'm here to plunder your treasure! Hand over yer pieces of eight! And yer pieces of seven too!

<rattles cutlass>

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Wed 19-Sep-12 12:34:54

<swipes cutlass, hands pirate a paintbrush>
You can do the high bits.

CaptainSillyBeardyDaddyman Wed 19-Sep-12 12:37:58

Arrr, alright I'll do it, but I'll be having the cake!

<sticks hook through cake>

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Wed 19-Sep-12 12:50:30

<cuts slice of cake round hook with cutlass>
Here you go.

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 12:55:09

they can't close down this thread now, because this is a genuine picture of home decoration wink

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 13:05:49

So, I want to decorate my kitchen.

At the moment it is a painted a luffly chocolate brown, I want to keep that colour but have on one wall a bit of statement wallpaper.

I am a big fan of blues but thought it should maybe have another colour.

So what goes with brown that isn't blue, but won't look out of place next to my cream-with-blue-accentuated (?) living room.

Please bear in mind, I live in a 2 bed house, I have 2 rooms downstairs - living room and kitchen.

it is important I get this right.

<hands midget gems around>

<pretends to be actually working and not MNing>

see, I had a genuine decorating question and now MNHQ can not delete Shaky's thread.

I want actual pictures. My budget is non-existant, so the cheaper the better.

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 13:18:08

ps, well done for claiming a picture topic grin

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 13:20:01

Brian -

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 13:20:17

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 13:20:29

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 13:26:21

you are just too trendy for me nickel

I'm a bit more....vanilla when it comes to decor ie boring

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 14:01:46

not even the middle one?

nickeldaisical Wed 19-Sep-12 14:02:23

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 18:05:29

ooo, the last two are more my thing although I did want to move away from the blue as I have some kind of blue in every other room (I cant help it, its calming)

bloomin apostrophe key is off again, apologies for me bad grammar

I press it once, it does multiple apostrophes or nothing and then randomly works properly.

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 18:06:34

Middle one reminds me of my nans wallpaper back in the early 80s! grin

I think we killed Shakys thread, we were only trying to help it not get deleted chum!!!

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 18:19:00

Purple? That could work well?

Cant recall seeing any purple/brown colour schemes though.

My stupid kitchen isn't very swish, what with it being standard housing association (I long for stainless steel, shiny units and integrated budget says "get over yourself" grin )

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 18:53:46

This would look lufferly with chocolate brown:

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 18:54:44

Try again....

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 18:55:24

Aarrgghh - how do you post a picture? It previews OK but then when I post the pic isn't there!!

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 18:56:06

<waits excitedly for RachelHRD pic>

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 18:56:54

errr, I dont know - I just clicked the choose file link and selected pic, then posted message - no preview.

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 19:06:26

Here hopefully!!!

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 19:07:12

Hoorah! Or this....

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 19:08:27

oooo, I like them both.

The 2nd is a bit too trendy, I am very beige in my tastes blush

the first one is beautiful!

Thanks smile

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 19:10:00

Or this although it is blue...

RachelHRD Wed 19-Sep-12 19:11:30

All from Next and around £15 a roll so not too expensive smile

Sssup shaky <hands over the promised tins of paints>

<Offers round cake>

Can I just ask when did we get pictures <excited>

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 20:06:36

is it just a coincidence that the same band of rogue MNers keep randomly coming together on nonsense/random threads?

Rachel I would never have thought of going to Next for wallpaper...however, I will now!

You have, of course, set me back to blues! I may just pootle over to the Next website and have a mooch.

SHAKY were are you at girlfriend!? (sorry, DD had Fresh Prince of Bel Air on grin )

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 20:07:18

State pics have been on certain topics for a couple of months now - you can't get them on chat or aibu though.

Shaky Wed 19-Sep-12 20:21:46

Oh hello everyone.

Thanks for the paints State.

I'm very, very impressed that you are putting pictures in my topic. How thoughtful of you.

Thanks for doing the high bits Beardy, it's looking great.

<brings more cake, wine and bag of cola cubes>

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 20:25:09

In order to keep the decor theme going, we could discuss various decor throughout the rooms of your lovely topic Shaky

For example, is your Orangery south facing? [thoughtful face]

I'm thinking a Japanese theme would go well.

<scoffs cola cubes>

Shaky Wed 19-Sep-12 20:29:34

Our house is magnolia from top to bottom, it's so boring and bland.

This might actually insipre me decorate it and add a bit of colour.

We have just had planning permission approved to build a conservatory at the back of our house. Work will start in 2 weeks, I'm so excited!

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 20:32:00

I am cream and pale blue woman.

My entire house needs redecorating (when I say entire house - that equates to kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms and hall/stairs/landing so not exactly epic project) I plan to inject colour. It is hard coming away from my go-to palette though!

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 20:33:09

Is it a conservatory or an orangery though?

I can't tell the difference and think it may be an attempt to make it sound less 80's/90's and more modern, with the price to reflect grin

Shaky Wed 19-Sep-12 20:53:32

What's an orangery?

It will be an extra living room/ playroom for ds.

I can't wait to get all the toys out of the living room, I feel like the house has been taken over by plastic....

How are you coping with your morning sickness/all day sickness now? Are you feeling any better?

<Never leaves chat or aibu> blush

I'm no good with interior design, I do get obsessive over my dcs bedrooms. Ds has a digger/building site theme, and I may have begged dp to bring home an orange cone with flashing light to use as a bedside lamp blush

I can't paint at this house <counts down until we can move> so I can enjoy decorating through you lot.

brian I like cream and pale blue, that's my living room, do have a few flashes of a turquiosy <makes up words> blue aswell.

BonkeyMollocks Wed 19-Sep-12 20:56:28

<sneaks in>

<puts biscuits in table>

So this us where you all are!

I would love a orangery .

I am a wanna be snob ! grin

Shaky Wed 19-Sep-12 21:14:56

Thanks for the biscuits Bonkey,

I did bring home one of those flashing lights one night when I was very drunk 20 years ago (I was 19 at the time). My mum went MAAAAD!

What is an orangery?

Shaky Wed 19-Sep-12 21:20:28

Ok just googled it, so basically it's just a posh conservatory.

We are having a conservatory, we are not posh, but it will be the bestest conservatory EVER!

Now I have my own topic I could put pictures of it being built and keep my topic alive forever! Result!

BrianCoxIsUpTheDuff Wed 19-Sep-12 22:27:28

Yeah, sickness is tailing off <hopeful>, it just comes at the most random times of day - never the same time, so I don't know when to expect it and cant plan how to avoid it (ie eat/sleep/cry)

Had a good day today though and guess what - this thread has started me off on a hunt for beautiful wallpaper for the nursery section of my bedroom (long room, sectioning it off so the baby has a 'nursery') I may start my own thread though, instead of hijacking yours. Brian's Decor Delights or similar wink

An Orangery is a conservatory, but sold to people who have "I want to spend too much money on a conservatory" stamped across their forehead grin

Shaky Wed 19-Sep-12 23:11:44

Brian you could start your own thread here! Everyone is welcome, tis an open (but magnolia) house.

Re the sickness, I found the mornings (not eating breakfast), and teatime the worst, it was the smells of stuff that put me off.

I remember cooking a pizza that I was craving for, as soon as I too k it out of the oven I was overwhelmed by the smell. Could not eat it!

Supermarkets also turned my stomach, even the (normally lovely) smell of freshly baked bread made me heave ,

Maryz Wed 19-Sep-12 23:18:04

Where is HoneyDragon anyway?

I haven't seen her since her topic was cruelly taken away sad.

Though I have to confess to not looking very hard

She's hotpinkweasel now maryz

<Pinches biscuit>

BonkeyMollocks Wed 19-Sep-12 23:28:46

Maryz , there us a HotPinkWeasel about! wink

BonkeyMollocks Wed 19-Sep-12 23:29:17

and X post !

Maryz Wed 19-Sep-12 23:30:21

Oh, she really is hiding so grin

LadyBeagleEyes Thu 20-Sep-12 00:03:14

I've made the mistake of going on a contentious thread today.
It's so lovely and calming here.
<gets out sleeping bag and hides dozes off.
Goodnight everybody.

Morning all.

<Lays out naice pastries, posh coffee, and fresh juices>

nickeldaisical Thu 20-Sep-12 10:55:53

hhhmmm, i like the mint flowery one. the first one Rachel posted (eventually) grin

RachelHRD Thu 20-Sep-12 14:59:51

Oi cheeky ;) it is clearly a flaw in posting pics - if you preview them you lose 'em!!

I like that one too nickel and am going to order it for a feature wall in my lounge smile Oh and it's teal dahling dontchaknow ;)

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Fri 21-Sep-12 01:34:54

<approves high bits>
<yawns, stretches & falls asleep on sofa>

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Fri 21-Sep-12 14:26:17

<wakes up and wanders back to Puddle to make coffee>

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 14:30:08

it does feel rather quiet in here, doesn't it!

Rachel, are you decorating now? smile

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Fri 21-Sep-12 14:56:34

The kettle's on in the Puddle and State's made a Victoria sponge if anydody wants some.

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Fri 21-Sep-12 14:56:48

Anybody that is...

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 15:38:00

i'l do you fists at dawn if you call a Victoria Sandwich a sponge.

I've had this argument already this week.

don't make me start another thread on it!

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 15:38:21

<<gets down off soap box blush>>

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 15:38:53

ah, you're over there, are you?

did Purdy get told off? grin

EmpressOfTheGoldOceans Fri 21-Sep-12 15:50:43

It will be long gone by dawn!

Shaky's fine as far as I know, it just felt like time to be heading back. And the Puddle has the best coffee.

<Hides in shakys thread>

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 16:56:14

I'm grumpy too.
I've got a cold.

I want to move my shop somewhere else, but the only chance I have is moving it to a different town/village and I don't know anywhere else (everywhere round here is too small to keep a bookshop)

go into toys, too? how would I keep up with trends? i don't know anything about toys! (and they're firm sale...)

DD is crouchy with the same cold, and won't be appeased by DH/
and she's just had a nap.

and the cup of homey and lenom that DH has just made me hasn't done anything to make me feel better.

<Adds and puppys to the stamp on daddyman> git that will be in my head for hours.

nickel move it to bury st edmunds, stock pin toy/melissa and doug stuff and it will be a huge sucess and I will come coo over your dd and bring you home baked goodies. <Misses little independant toy and book shop in home town>

Shaky Fri 21-Sep-12 17:02:37

Hello people,

I'm sorry I've been neglecting you all.

I've had a mad, busy catch up with housework session today. The place was a tip after having ds at home with the pox. I am now admiring my empty laundry basket and shiny floors.

<lays down posher coffee than the puddle serves, hot chocolate and sherbert dib dabs>

I've not been told off, god knows how!

Ds went back to nursery yesterday as he is now recovered from the chicken pox, he was a nightmare last night though. I think he's just over tired and a bit out of routine after being poorly.

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 17:25:30

bit far for the daily commute though! shock

nickeldaisical Fri 21-Sep-12 17:26:22

i preferred calling you purdy it matches how purdy you are.

Shaky Fri 21-Sep-12 17:32:00

What's got into you today beardy?

Why thank you Nickel

Shaky Fri 21-Sep-12 17:42:49

I bought my first ever size 8 jeans today!

I'm in a cantankerous mood today and thought MN needed to take itself less seriously today grin

And how did you know about the kitten/puppy kicking?!?

nickeldaisical Sat 22-Sep-12 11:31:37

I think my cold's getting worse.

I'm trying to be helpful to these customers and I must sounds like a surly teenager! shock

RachelHRD Sat 22-Sep-12 16:19:28

Shaky Sat 22-Sep-12 22:10:40

Yes, the puddle is gorgeous and comfy and snugly.

I'm still decorating....thanks for the paints.

I've not got the horrible cold, I didn't bring it to the puddle honest!

<Admits the coffee in the puddle is better>

TheBonkeyMollocks Sat 22-Sep-12 22:11:30

<gets out dust buster and polish>

Shaky Fri 26-Oct-12 23:15:38

I've got rid of the spiders but I'm leaving the cobwebs for Halloween grin

Shaky Fri 26-Oct-12 23:33:07
