Wwyd: window dressing in new build

I'm about to move into a new build and need to get window dressings for the living room and one of the bedrooms. They're both about three metres wide and floor to ceiling (patio door from living room to balcony)

Would you go for curtains or blinds? And if blind, what kind, or what kind of curtains?

They are no fixtures or fittings at all in either room - so I can start from scratch

I guess it's going to cost me a fortune!

How do the windows open - are they hinged at the bottom, so open at the top, into the room? This could potentially limit what you can put up there.

Thanks for the response

The window in the bedroom opens in the middle

The patio door in the living room opens into the room in the middle of the glass

I'd have curtains I think, just because of the sheer expense of glass - it would keep more heat in during the winter than using blinds.

Thanks. What type of fitting would you go for? Those ring thing ones are easy. Or is it pencil pleat? I have no idea about these things! I want it to look modern but cosy. I have a mixture of modern and vintage furniture - quite eclectic.
