Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the Johhn Lewis ones which seem a bit more expensive than Ikea's and pretty similar?

Also, does anyone know why Ikea are selling a 75cm wide wardrobe frame, in addition to the 50cm and 100cm ones when all the doors are 50cm wide?

I'm about to get the Ikea wardrobes. 75cm frames are because you can get sliding doors to fit, at either 75 or 100 (150 or 200 per set of doors). You can also get 25cm wide mirrored hinged doors so have a 50 and a 25 on the 75frams

I have the IKEA wardrobes. They're ok but our veneer is a bit chipped and cheap looking. If I had to get them again I'd get the hinged doors as the sliding were a nightmare to fit.

We've got the hinged doors. If anything happens or your style changes, it's very easy to just replace the door. I really like ikea for amazing storage solutions inside + easy to install lighting system.

We have 10 year old oak veneer Pax wardrobes. Still look like new and solid as a rock.

I recommend John lewis Mixit. Both children have this range and it was easy to construct and is lasting well. Still looks pristine. Lovely deep drawers too.

My daughters had a PAX wardrobe and I was very impressed for price. Was 100cm wide with couple of rails and basket and only about £120 I think.

We actually found that John Lewis Mix It were cheaper than the IKEA Pax for the configuration that we wanted.

Delivery from JL was fast & free - the wonderful delivery men brought all 35 (!) packages up three flights of stairs in our townhouse.

(Contrast this with IKEA who charged £35 for delivery and then refused to take anything beyond our ground floor kitchen...!)

The Mix It wardrobes were easy enough to put together (you'll need a drill though) and feel super sturdy now they're up. They're set up on super duper, squishy brand new carpets which should really make them wobbly, but they're steady as a rock. We now have them in all three bedrooms, we were so impressed Grin

My name is Verity and I am addicted to Ikea Pax Blush

We have had some of them over 15 years, they have been dismantled and erected 3 times, we have newer ones too. You can change out the interiors very cheaply and doors if you change your style.

To tell you just how addicted I am, we have 5 doubles and 15 singles, that is not a misprint. I have a lot. I can hide a 32" tv and xbox inside one in the boy's playroom, we use some for coats/bags/shoes, board games/lego stuff plus the usual wardrobes in bedrooms. They have grown with the children, moving hanging rails or buying new ones for a few quid.

I cannot comment on John Lewis as I have never bought from them.
