What exactly are you asking for help with?

In time for Christmas I would concentrate on just one or two jobs. If your husband could do the floor and together paint the walls it will make a big difference.
Look at some of the pin interest threads on hygge and use lighting, cushions, plants etc to change the feel of the room.
Good luck

If you havent got the money to do all op then you might be better to save for a while longer and not be in a rush for Christmas. You could paint and wall paper and new flooring - I would do the fireplace but not the French doors (could you paint them or paint the fireplace?)

Have you pictures so we can help ?

I would echo the other posts here - believe me when I say how easy it is to want to change everything at once. However, if you don't have the time or the budget, it ends up a big mess.

I would just do some cosmetic touches for Xmas and then save up to do the whole room properly.

You could try:
Getting a fireplace cover - loads of ideas on Pinterest
New cushions or throw for the sofa
Frosted glass panels or colour panels for the French doors - these are like transfers you stick on and then peel off when you want to change them.
A new rug
Pictures or artwork on the wall to hide the bits that need plastering
