What would you do in this kitchen?

So, our kitchen currently has little splash backs that match the solid work surface.
Our walls are getting grubby and I'm wondering whether to tile across the wall level with the big splash back or use glass?
Out of the photo are dark aubergine cupboards as well as the cream.
The floor is dark slate with a hint of bronze.

What would you do in this kitchen?

Lovely colour worktops!
Aubergine, cream etc, all sound like my favourite colours.
Is it not possible, since you have some rich and bold colours already, to use a very good quality washable paint, above the splash backs, which you can easily wipe down?
Failing that, I'd go with gas,, paler colour, maybe a light mocha, but be prepared to do a lot of maintenance to keep it clean, streak and spot free.
They are a PITA!

Some shelves to get rid of all the clutter?! Then repaint?

Yes, we are looking at some shelves too!! i did take the photo on a whim and didn't tidy up first. SmileI have considered washable paint. Concerned that it's going to look to busy with all the lines from tiles, but we have a bin at the far end and the wall is marked and looks horrendous!!

No idea but EnvyEnvyEnvy at your Kitchen Aid.

Whatever you do it has to go with that.
