...what colour are your walls? Need some inspiration for baby DS's nursery.

We have grey carpet on the stairs with one bright teal wall and three pale blue / grey walls. We also have grey bedroom carpet with one black/pink floral wallpapered walls and the other three white.
If I was decorating a child's room I think I'd have a very soft grey on the walls. White furniture and woodwork and then brightly coloured duvet sets and curtains etc. Then you can change the accent colours without changing the walls

Yes a soft grey is what I was thinking but I was worried it might be a bit "too" grey iyswim. All the furniture is white so that would work

We have mid soft grey carpet in our bedroom with white walls (and duck egg curtains), it's v relaxing

DS's room has white shutters and black out blinds (the shutters are a necessity so we can open the windows without the cats getting out).

Ok so definitely a white or light grey then

It's a small ish room so don't want anything that will make it look smaller

DD's bedroom has a light grey carpet and her walls are a beautiful pale turquoise and it works really well with the white painted woodwork, her cot bed etc.

If it's a small room, if you paint one wall a darker shade than the other 3, it kind of pushes that wall back to make the room appear bigger.

we have grey carpet everywhere in our house apart from ground floor and have white walls even in both kids rooms, although they are still in same room.

we have stained pine furniture with darker taupe black out curtains, pastel colour accessories, white bedding for both bed and cot.

grey is a great neutral. keeping it simple and changing up accents or accessories is great fun!

Not nursery - DDs are 3 & 5 but they have a mid to dark grey carpet in their room. We've put in white furniture with some of it livened up with colour splashes from the Ikea Stuva range. They have bright white walls and bedding in mostly primary colours though there's a fair bit of pink.
They have a multicoloured rug a bit like this www.feltandyarn.com/20-felt-ball-rug and a couple of bright pics.

They're kids though so it' handy to keep a fairly neutral background as the room fills up with soft toys, plastic tat and brightly coloured lego soon enough never mind all the junk modelling from school that can't be thrown out

I was coming on to say duck egg blue - I have grey in my bathroom and have duck egg towels/striped bathmat with slightly stronger duck egg in it and it looks lovely

Mustard/yellow would work, soft orange might do too
