Are there different shades of white paint? (or is that a stupid question?)

We are planning to repaint our kitchen. The units are white and at the moment the walls are off white- swedish white i think it was called.

The kitchen is long and fairly narrow and really dark, even with the off white colour. So i am thinking of painting it white- but will this be too stark and cold? Is it possible to get a warm shade of white, that is still white? (I don't mean something like dulux natural calico which is more like cream coloured).

Thanks for your advice!

Definitely, Dulux do various whites - we have White Mist in our living room, which is a cool, very pale greyish white. Valspar also do a lot of white shades.

Just get yourself to the aisle of white in B&Q for some testers and prepare to be amazed

Dulux timeless. We've just had our whole downstairs painted with it and it is just the warm side of white. Love it.

What did Dulux call that range of different whites they did in the 80s? It was heavily advertised at the time. Lots of warm whites in that. Must be under another name now.
