Creative bedside table solutions for small space

We have a reasonable sized bedroom but because the space is pretty fixed because of doors, windows and lots of built in wardrobe space we really struggle to get bedside tables in with our kingsize bed. There is 15cm on dh side and 25cm on my side. We could move the bed to make 20 and 20 but couldn't move anymore as the wardrobe doors open next to my bed (which is why the bed is further away from my side) and the door into the bedroom is on dh side.

We've thought of a shelf above the bed but because of the height of our headboard it wouldn't be very practical - open to suggestions though! We've just bought a new bed so changing that isn't an option (we did look into bed with storage headboards but after 3/4 years couldn't find something we both liked)

The tables need to take a light (could be a clip on light which we use attached to the bed at the moment), kindle, phone and drink (currently these go on the floor).

Help!

(cross posted to property and diy as don't know which boards get more traffic)

I bought a pair of wooden box shelves and attached then to the wall either side of the bed. There's a lamp on each and then a bottom shelf as well for drinks and stuff. They don't take up any floor space so don't make our room seem smaller.

I have two teeny bedside tables that nest inside each other and would fit in that space, I got them second hand but think they are the innermost two from an old fashioned nesting table set. Hard to tell if it would look good without seeing your bed frame though! I'd be tempted to go with box shelves as someone else suggested.

This is my bedframe www.barkerandstonehouse.co.uk/bedroom/Bedframes/Lovisa-Bedframe-(Antique-Nickel)/sizes-1933-65870/

Your bedside tables sound fab hufflepuffin. I've looked and looked and haven't found anything that is even close to fitting.

Box frames actually a great idea though. I've struggled to find any small enough but I'm sure there must be some out there...

Can you attach a box shelf to the bottom of the bed frame for the books/phones and keep the lamps clipped to the bed head.

What drinks? Water in a sports bottle could go on the hidden shelf, or a make a tiny drink shelf or use a drink clip from a bike.

Ooh, have you looked at plant tables / plant stands? Might be skinny enough?

Plant stands is a great idea! Have just ordered 18cm oak box shelves on etsy though so fingers crossed they work. If not I'll remember that. Or an end on oak beam as was suggested in my duplicate thread.

We have clip on lights at the moment which are fine. Fancy something like this to attach to the side of the box shelves though: x 2 Flexible LED Bed Head Light, On / Off Touch Sensitive, Reading Lights + One Driver, LEDB-SC-WH www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006U3VXPC/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_PoD.vb5WVFWXK?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

If you like a vintage style what about wooden crates turned on their ends or even attached to the wall something like this www.google.com/search?q=crates+as+bedside+tables&oq=use+crates+as+bedside+ta&sourceid=silk&espvd=1&ie=UTF-8#espvd=1&imgrc=LGrQ2CaG7zU0AM%3A
