Looking for a comfortable sofa bed preferably up to about £1,000

Am looking for a sofa bed that is comfortable both as a sofa and as a bed. Was nearly going to buy one from Marks and Spencer but have been put off by reviews that suggest that they're ok at first but quickly become uncomfortable. Will be slept on fairly infrequently but will be sat on quite often. I would also prefer to be able to see one first (we're in York) but if anyone has had any good experiences of online buying that would be great to hear about :)

we have one from next.
tbh sitting is more important than sleeping so we tried a few.
for guests we have a cheap memory foam topper and it's comfortable to sleep this way.

Thank you - we have been to Next but the only sofa bed they had was particularly uncomfortable as a sofa. Do you remember which one yours is?

Mine is the Oke bifold from the futon company.

Had it about 8 years and I think it its pretty good.

It is very deep to sit on (length from back to edge of seat) so I like to pile cushions behind my back cos I am short.

It can be a bit awkward to put up and down (think oiling it would help) and can be quite squeaky (oiling would probably help that too!)

Overall I would recommend it though...

I don't have a sofa bed but when was lookin for sofa sat on one in dfs.

Was a really comfy sofa that we nearly went with, then the sales guy showed us it was sofa bed too! will probably go buy it at some point

Friheten sofa bed from ikea approx £400. I bought a double bed memory foam topper for another £100 & it is lovely for both functions. I've also added a lot of squishy cushions for sofa use though.

I bought one from FUrniture village with an extra deep sprung mattress. I'm told by guests thats its really comfortable. I've had it 3 years but i only gets used as a sofa bed about 4/5 times a year so no idea how well it would wear if used more often
