Rug for bedroom - what size?

I have lovely new wooden floors. Would like to have a rug next to the bed in my bedroom but the space available is quite small. I have found a rug I love but the size of it (170cm x 120cm) would mean some of it would be under the bed and only about a 70cm x 120cm area of it would be peeking out. It's a king sized bed. Do you think this would look odd? Should I try to find a small rug that would just be next to the bed instead?

Would a runner work instead? I'm having this issue and have turned to runners but still have yet to find one I like!
