Would love a pretty vintage bedroom

Was wondering if anyone could help me

I'm looking to decorate my bedroom, at the moment I've got a cream carpet 3 cream walls and one dark pinky/plum wall, and beech furniture, I really don't want to change carpet or furniture as I can't afford too!

What would make a pretty vintage bedroom?

I've just ordered new bedding it's duck egg blue with big pink roses on it

Why not buy a rug then?

When you say vintage do you mean a bit vintage French and Laura Ashley or more a bit retro and more Cath Kidston?

Ideally you would have white or cream furniture but I would paint the room white and place vintage bunting across the wall and wicker heart details.

White fairy lights on sticks

I got love bunting on Amazon

A little jute rug could look at bit rustic

Defo cover the plum wall

Instead of painting over your plum wall could you wallpaper it, that could set the style of the room immediately, maybe not if you have already ordered new bed linen?

If you're not wallpapering I would look at ebay for vintage picture frames you can paint with tester pots in the colours you've chosen and maybe make a small gallery wall behind your bed with photos if you're not going to wallpaper. I've bought a few cushions in Cath Kidston fabrics on ebay too as they are pretty reasonable.

A vintage eiderdown would be lovely with the duvet covers you've described something like this maybe? www.gumtree.com/p/other-household-goods/vintage-pink-feather-eiderdown/1092423571. Or maybe a crochet throw, I bought a Cath Kidston one for my elder daughter's room and though it's lovely I think if I'd known how I could have made it a lot cheaper!

I could go on about this forever I love the vintage look! Makes me want to redecorate Smile

Not sure about the cream carpet. I'd ditch that and strip or paint the floor then add a rug. Am I alone in thinking rugs on carpets is odd concept?
