Laura Ashley Leather Sofa Problems

Has anyone had problems with Laura Ashley leather sofas coming apart at the seams - where the cloth is stitched to the leather? WE bought two sofas from LA in 2011, one (positioned in front of the TV, so high usage) started to fall apart within a year - complained to LA and they fully refunded stating a manufacturing problem and we replaced with identical one. The second original sofa (not in TV viewing position, so low usage) is NOW displaying exactly the same faults as the other purchased at the same time. LA are refusing to replace it, offering a paltry sum to take it away.
Has anyone had the same experience with LA leather sofas? Has anyone been more successful in getting positive action from LA Customer Services? Would love to hear from you.

Hi.We are in a dispute at the moment with LA about the very same thing.Looks like same sofa(Bradford leather)with the exact same problems. In fact ours is even worse. We bought ours at the same time so now I'm beginning to wonder if it was a faulty batch.Their offer?£475 BUT only if we return it so that basically means we will be a grand out of pocket AND sofa less!I mean what good is that! They said they weren't breaking the law when I rang but I beg to differ so we are now sending a letter from trading standards.I will keep you posted.I would love to join forces at a later date to bring LA to justice as they are just terrible.Maybe shame them on watchdogSmile

Omg do not buy Laura Ashley sofa. My husband and I spent close to 3000 pounds on a sofa. The kendal design in a beautiful fabric and with guardsman protection- in case of stains. 7 months later it looks like it's 10 years old. The sofa is only used at the weekend as it's in the TV room and has had very light use but the seats have sagged and it looks so shabby. What a con. I checked the reviews and couldn't believe how irresponsible it was of me to buy a sofa from a company who have clearly had this problem for a long time. ALL reviews complaining about poor aftercare and rubbish quality sofas. I've contacted LA who sent me an electronic link to their after care website and asked for proof of purchase. Which I will send them. Will post what happens next. . . . . Paying more does not mean u get a better product. Let's see if their aftercare makes up for it. . .

I have never had furniture from LA but I have heard many people complain that the build quality is really poor and they just don't last well.

Tell them you are going to set up a WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY LAURA ASHLEY FURNITURE facebook page with photos etc., and share it to all of your friends and get them to share it, it and people on here who've had similar problems to join the page and share it……
