Spray painting new walls

Faced with the mammoth task of painting our new house, I´m looking for any hints and tips to speed things up and improve the finish. It´s on freshly skimmed walls, so know I´ll need a couple of skim coats before the emulsion. Getting a professional in is unfortunately not in the budget, so has to be diy.... Has anyone ever hired an airless sprayer to paint internally? It looks fast but I´m a little nervous about it... No floors down or skirting etc on yet so I could make a bit of mess without it being a big disaster! Worth a shot???

We were in the same position and used a spray machine to do the white base coat. It was a big contract machine and my husband made a mess of a few walls with his attempt. His mate who he'd borrowed it off (a professional decorator) then came along and did the whole house in a couple of hours.

I've no idea if the smaller versions are easier to use but it definitely saved us a lot of time, you probably just need to get the hang of it.

That's what I'm scared of....think I could do a lot of damage with one of these!
