Integrating a wall tv into living room

I have a small living room with a sofa on one side and two armchairs facing it. Each of the other walls has a door in it and one has a window too. So the tv has gone up on a wall mount and the whole family agrees that though this is the logical place for it, we dislike it there.
It is About 6inches above one of the armchairs and protrudes from the wall about 4inches.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it look as if it fits in with the room?

My sister in law had her tv inset into the wall. It was a faff and messy as the walls either have to be raggled? into, then replastered, or a fake stud plasterboard wall put up in front of the real wall with a TV size cut out.

Doing this means you are kind of stuck with the same size tv for ever so bear that in mind.

to be honest unless your living room is absolutely huge it's daft to have it wall mounted. Or have a massive TV at all, for that matter.

Beehoove thanks but I rent and I doubt that the letting agent would be up for that Grin

RiverTam the tv is small. Actually I think that's one reason why it looks odd.

Beehoove there are some nice ideas on that link. Problem I have is that my tv is above an armchair.
I think I'll have to experiment with pictures around it, maybe?

That's a good idea, that would help it 'blend in' a bit too.
