Shutters - who to use and advice

New to this section, I had a flick and could to see a shutter thread so thought I'd start one.

Moving to new house, rather than curtains I would like shutters.

It's Victorian- am I committing a mortal sin against period homes?

What colours do people like? I'm keen on white or French grey. I think if we do grey, I'd pain the door to match. Is that a good idea?

I've had shutters before and loved them, how expensive would it be to do a three bed house? Obviously roughly!!
