Home decoration

Has anyone got wallpaper in their cloakroom, am considering Brighton wallpaper for ours. Decorator thinks that it is very odd, DH not so sure.

I just need reassurance that it is ok to do it.

We've never had wallpaper of any sort (scaredy cat) but that's cute!

I like it. Do you mean cloakroom or downstairs loo? I wonder if it might be a little too large scale for a very small room, on the other hand it's not as though anybody spends a lot of time in a cloakroom so you can go quite wild with decor if you want.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the decorator, they almost always want to paint everything cream IME, possibly a reaction to too much exposure to pattern in the course of their work.

Do you have a window? I'm just wondering if it might look good having the wallpaper on one wall and a matching blind and then the other three walls painted.

I like it, think it works well in cloakrooms. 2nd what Suburban says, do it on one wall, paint three and have a matching blind.

Do the whole room no feature wall or blind though!

I think it's great! But I'd paper all the walls, not personally being a fan of having one wall papered (feature wall?)

Thanks, no windows in the room
We are going to have a cloakroom furniture with basin and loo on one wall and have a mirror for the entire upper half of the wall on one side.
The rest three sides will be wallpaper.

Nice idea with the mirror, we have one in our bathroom like that, it really bounces the light around.

I've seen that paper in a small room, it's great - do all the walls Smile

I love it, it's very funky and perfect for a cloakroom.

I love to see wallpaper in a cloakroom. We are looking at a Chinoiserie type one. It is a place for exuberance that maybe you would not do elsewhere.

It's not my taste but if it's yours then go for it and sod what the bloody DECORATOR thinks! Really annoys me when they volunteer their unsolicited opinions.

You could also wallpaper the ceiling as well, I have done this

I have my cloakroom tiled halfway up with white metro tiles and then a jazzy white & silver wallpaper at the top with sparkly silver mirror and accessories and everyone loves it, it's the posh loo Grin go for it!
