What type of paint to use on a radiator cover?

We have put on 3 coats of white gloss already but it's not covering very well.
Should I be using something from a spray can?

The fret work particularly looks like it needs many more coats.

Is it an mdf radiator cover? Should paint up pretty nicely...

Yes its MDF.
I'm using dulux fast drying gloss.

After googling I think I should have used a primer.

Obv it's too late now.

White ofcorse, but go with matt
