I like Yankee Bright Copper Kettles - not sure if you can still get it in the usual Yankee outlets (discontinued?) but I just bought one from Amazon. Nice cinnamon smell and not too sweet.

I bought a new Yankee one last week - Snow in Peace I think it's called. Wintery but not as Christmassy!

Just been in asda is there a difference between yankee simply home and original yankee? There a lot cheaper x

Yankee have a sale on wax discs for oil burners, but 10 fir the price of 8, I got one of each of the festive range, they're between £0.80 and £1.50

I would try Kringles Mulling Spices or Christmas... Made by the founder of Yankee's son. Burn beautifully.. Simply Home yc's have less fragrances blended into the wax than a standard yc. No difference in the throw the candle releases just not as complex x

Imo they are a better quality candle. For me, they burn and smell how yc used to do. Have been a fan of yc for about 15 yrs now and still buy American only fragrances. However, I remember a time when I could light a yc and it would fill the bottom half of the house with fragrance. In the last few years I'm lucky if a yc can be smelt across the room.. Kringle are all white, no colours. The founder of yc sold the company in 98 and retired. He came out of retirement to help his son create this range. I am candle mad, and love this range so much I now own (with my sis) a shop that sells nothing but.

Christmas is my favourite(smells identical to ycs silver bells, xmas tree and satsuma).. Yes I do sell online but the website hasn't been updated with xmas flavours yet. Pm me your address and I'll send you some samples to try x

Don't know how they compare price wise but we use the White Company's Winter range, diffuser, candles, room spray.

Not Yankee but for the last couple of years we have used Sainsburys Tu "Christmas spice" - its so nice we buy loads so we can use it all year.

Yankee ones are totally naff don't even smell! Asda do an xmas one round Xmas time that is about £3 n amazing!

I second White Company "Winter" range. Hate Yankee Candle smells!

Next have a Christmas range of diffusers and one of them is really nice, the other two smelt vile. I think it was the one in the red box but I can't remember the name.

I love Lily Flame's Winter Chorus candle - it is a warm, gingerbready scent, and I have never found another candle with a similar scent - I even tried to mix my own, and failed.

I also love Shearer's Frankincense and Myrrh candles.

And thanks to this thread, I have found places I can buy both of these candles online - so thank you!

Bought a Christmas yankee, Christmas cookie one and not impressed at all, smells sickly set not christmassy :( awaiting samples from krimble.

I have just bought this ultrasonic diffuser.

You put essential oils in so the scent is nice and not synthetic. You could choose a winter blend for a xmas scent.

This is the time of year I bring out the M&S Frankincense & Myrrh candles and reed diffusers - lovely Christmassy smell, and in their 3 for 2 promotion.

I desperately want a nice Christmas fragrance in the house - have bad morning sickness and so sensitive to smells that a stew in the slow cooker overnight prompted a puke this morning. It's only cooking/coffee smells that do it so a lovely festive scent would very much help to diffuse the vomit-inducing ones!

I did see a thread on here about how to make your own scented candles but not sure I have the wherewithal at the moment!

Another vote for the White Company Winter candle here. I get DMIL and DSIS to buy a few and bring them when they visit.

Cinnamon stick or two and whole cloves in a saucepan with orange peels. Simmer for an hour.

Or put cloves and a chopped up cinnamon stick in a little bowl and place a tealight in amongst them. As they warm you will get the lovely spicy smell.
