Help with our living room...

We are living in beige hell.

Carpet is beigey/browny, walls are off white. One wall is the old external wall which is gritstone and is a nice feature, gritstone fireplace with black woodburner. Sofas are brown. Blinds are beige.

What colours do you reckon might look good? I was wondering about a bit of duck egg or a throw like this ? A bit of me thinks it would still be a bit muted. Any ideas would be very gratefully received.

Your living room sounds similar to mine we were going to go for purple curtains/throw accessories but it was too dark we went for green in the end (didnt like the sound of it either!) we've had lots of compliments on it. Green patterned curtains and gold throw/ gold bronze accessories. Happy shopping!

Mmm did wonder about green, saw a kind of dirty moss green (if you know what I mean) wool throw recently which looked lovely. Thank you Smile

My dad's house was beige and white hell and badly needed updating. I chose lime green curtains, accessories and cushions for him and everybody now compliments the living room

My living room has beige carpet, brown sofa, white walls & blinds. For colour, we have some pretty greeny-blue embroidered cushions (with seaside motifs as we live by the sea). I made a blanket for DS when he was a baby & it's in the same colour.

In spring/ summer we have lots of greeny-blue candles & plants & in winter we have deep purple or red candles & flowers. I would really like seasonal cushions like they do in the states but I can't quite bring myself to do it!
