History club was formed out of many MNetters' seemingly insatiable appetite for historical debate, forensic analysis, ways of dying, pee and poo through the ages, dynamic despots, evidential disputes and stuff that goes on in caves.
MNHQ were asked to provide us with a Club. Thank you, MNHQ.
The rest, as they say, is hysteria ...
This is a lovely idea. Looking forward to seeing what comes up. Anyone watching 'The British'?
This has got to be the best topic! Great idea

It's great, isn't it?
I've been away for a week or so and really missed it.
Lots of ideas for threads.
Yay! I only saw that History Club had been formed when I saw the Eric Hobsbawm thread in Active Convos.

I'm glad you've found us - a lot of people here have really varied interests. It's a kind of learn and educate club, with wild speculation too!

Well keep posting and Justine will realise it was a fab decision to create it!
I already spend to much time lurking on MN. Finding this club will definitely not help

Just found the History Club! I love debating the Tudors and Wars of the Roses. I adore Anne Boleyn and Lady Jane Grey. still remember bawling for 2 hours when I discovered their demises aged 10. Loved history and the characters ever since. My fave historians on tv are Lucy Eorsley, sexy Dan Snow and also fantastic Mary Beard.
