I admit I haven't read the book but I'm a bit hmmm about the plot. Wandering about in the woods and just happens to meet the king, hints of witchcraft, really?

I understood she met him more formally through her relatives.

What does anyone else think?

Gregory is quite open about the fact that she weaves history and fiction .

The meeting on the path was accepted folklore, they probably did meet at court. They did marry secretly at her home.

Apparently there are contemporary rumours about Jacquetta, Lady Rivers the mother of Elizabeth Woodville. These seem to be based around the fact that all of her large family survived infancy, which was unheard of in the days of such high childhood mortality.

Jacquetta and Elizabeth were very fertile, then you look at Elizabeth[s Grandson Henry and the difficulties he had.
