Janina Ramirez - Chivalry and Betrayal: the Hundred Years War

My TV planner popped up and told me about this new series (starts 11 Feb) but I can find virtually nothing about it, except what the planner has to say:

Dr Janina Ramirez explores the lengthy conflict between England and France in the 14th and 15th centuries. She begins by examining how Edward III led a crushing English victory at the Battle of Crecy in 1346, focusing on the role played by low-born archers, before moving on to the Black Prince's campaign of terror.

She has tweeted to say it's on in Feb but that's it, nothing on the Beeb site that I can find!

Anyway, I just finished watching her programme about York Minster that was on recently, absolutely marvellous stuff. Love her programme about illuminations and the Viking Sagas one that was on over Xmas.

You've probably seen it already but Radio Times indicates 9pm on BBC4 on Monday 11th Feb.

Thanks for the heads up! The programme looks really interesting.

I didn't even know there's a History Club on mumnset, just discovered it today - just came across it 'cos 'She-wolves' was on active conversations for a while.

Yes, I think it should be a good one. I'm not quite sure why Ramirez is presenting it as she's an art historian; from the Beeb description it doesn't seem to have an arty flavour. However, let's wait and see :)
