From another thread.

Which bit most interests you?

For me its definitely from the reign of Henry II to the end of John's Reign. I love it and have read so much about it. I also have a soft spot for the Peasants revolt, and have read good books from that period.

12th century; amazing things happening in literature and art, good time for academics, relatively tolerant and open minded compared to what came after.

Hmmm...used to be WW1 I suppose. I have a degree in Modern Military History (which actually covers Peninsular War to End of the Cold War). Wrote my thesis on WW1.

Nowadays different periods dip in and out of favour. 19th Century is always a favourite - so many changes, so much social revolution, so many new ideas and inventions.
