Do maintained schools pay the entry fees for admissions tests

such as STEP or do parents? I guess it might vary from school to school,but I just wondered if there is any legal requirement?

Parents pay. Parents also pay UCAS fee. Schools only pay GCSE and A level exam fees.

I think it depends. If the school has to make the exam entry & if they are the ones pushing pupils to apply they sometimes don't ask the pupils to reimburse them.

maintained schools would not normally pay. However there are sometimes bursaries for admission tests. For STEP it appears a refund may sometimes be possible www.admissionstestingservice.org/for-test-takers/step/faqs/

BMA and UKCAT for potential medics offer refunds of standard, not late, fees www.admissionstestingservice.org/for-test-takers/bmat/faqs/ and www.ukcat.ac.uk/registration/bursaries/
