DS has STILL not firmed. My nerves are shot to pieces and I keep asking what if the website crashes because so many people have left it to the last minute! What if we have a power cut/broad band failure! I despair!

DD1 did hers last weekend - so now she can concentrate on trying to get the grades!
DD2 just looking at booking some open days though....so the 'fun' begins again for me imagine hamster on a wheel desperately trying to get off

Ah I remember that from last year. I also did the broken internet scenario. I reached the point where I thought DS was doing it just to annoy me. Grin

DS2 did his last week but he had his final interview on the 17/4 and got his last offer on the 22/4 so couldn't do it before.

Yes SecretSquirrels - I'm beginning to wonder that too! He has promised to do it today - but he said that at 1am this morning when he was feeling grateful to me for picking him and his mate up from the pub. No doubt he'll have a memory malfunction when he finally surfaces today ....

My dsd did hers within a couple of days of receiving all her offers. She couldn't do accommodation application until she had done this and really needed the get the application for accommodation in to be in with a shot of getting what she wanted. Just have a nerve wracking couple of months waiting for the accommodation offer.

DS has chosen 2 unis - unfortunately he likes his insurance too much so keeps dithering. Also unfortunately, neither does accommodation on a first come first served basis so he doesn't have that pressure to motivate him!

Tell him to grow up! Does he ever make decisions? This would drive me mad too!

Know exactly what you mean - DD finally firmed/insured hers this morning. I too was worried in case the website crashed! I asked her why she'd left it so late and she said she doesn't like commitment!

Bit harsh Milly? Hmm It's a big decision.

Milly knows that ds has been dithering for months and hates making decisions about anything!!! But I have just come hot foot from DS's bedroom to tell DH that finally, he has completed his application.

I think he might be about to go into melt down though - he can't decide who to vote for on Thursday ....

DD's school has been doing quite a bit on politics over the last 3 weeks. They have invited in the local MP and the people standing for election from other parties etc. DD is normally quie an 'air head' but even she is getting excited about the election! I am pleased that she has actually learnt a lot about current affairs lately and is showing an interest in real life. She sat having a conversation with a few friends the other day and they were discussing who to vote for and why....and how the local chap from the UKIP party was really scary and unpleasant. They are actually starting to sound like adults Wink.

Back to the subject of Ucas - a few of DD's friends are now planning on gap years and have been emailing the universities before firming them to see whether they can defer.

Still waiting here, now convinced DD just winding me up. Firm been decided fir a while, but dithering between 2 on insurance.

That was a bit tongue in cheek to stone! She knew what I meant - sorry it appeared a bit harsh to others. My DD1 firmed without even talking to me. Made her decision as soon as the two offers she wanted came in. That concerned me a bit too!

Ds is in the dining room looking miserable. He cant make a decision at all.
Decision making was never his strong point.??

He is getting himself in a right state. He is so scared of getting it wrong. He wanted to go to uni for so long. He didnt get the grades he wanted last year so didnt go. He firm last year gave him a really low offer this year, but he is not so keen on town. His insurance has lovely town and smaller uni and only thing is it is a long way from us and gf.
Other uni is where gf is so he knows it well. They all have good reputation for subject and two are very up and coming.

Hopefully he will feel more confident of his choice now he's actually made it.

Surrey firm
Lancaster insurance.
Southampton was the firm from last year.
I have enough grey hairs already. Dd managed to spill smoothie in her school bag. So washed bag tonight but have just found her train ticket has gone through the wash as well.

Both great choices. I've always liked Surrey Uni a lot.

Now to worry about the results. I'm not too stressed with DC4 as I think her insurance is a very good second choice but she is desperate to go to her firm. Eek, pass the Wine

Dd has started booking open days so we have to start all over againSmile
I am a great believer in fate and i believe ds didnt go last year for a reason. My DM died october last year, so just when ds would have started at uni, so i was glad he was at home.
