Leeds/Leicester for communications

I got offers from Leeds and Leicester for their communications programs (MA international communications and mass communications respectively). Any comments on the programs, uni, highly appreciated!

For the record I am not a parent, but would love to hear thoughts from the "grown ups", since most of my peers are either biased with their own uni/city or not have much experience, which makes me even more confused. So I just want to put it out here and know what you think before I make the dreaded decision.

Would you be moving there or commuting? I am Leicester based, also starting masters there this year and can tell you anything about the city if you'd like.

Uni has good rep, highly thought of.

Hi Justjuanmorebeer, I'll be moving there, probably student halls, since I'm not from either cities. It's nice to hear your comments, they're are well taken. What program are you on? How's the city in terms of its employment, I might want to do temp jobs whilst studying there or work after the masters. Some of the things I concern most about are uni rep and career prospects.

Also looking forward to hearing any comments about the programs, Leeds or Leicester, cheers!

A friend is on the undergrad international relations, I'll ask him for you if you like. Although I know he will speak highly as he just won the faculty prize recently.

I am in the social sciences, deciding between a Msc or MA currently. But due to start this year hopefully.

I think part time work is relatively easy to find depending on what you want, I know loads of places you could try so pm me nearer the time if you like. There is also an agency on campus, unitemps. You can view the jobs without being a member. Pretty quiet this time of year though.

Anything else you'd like to know just ask. I am good at finding accomodation too and can recommend where to look but I am afraid I don't know much about the halls. Have you watched secret lives of students? That is at Leicester and you can see the halls on there, doesn't look particularly nice though Confused

Leeds is a nicer city in my opinion. I would put this pretty high on my list if choosing between the two!
