Stocking fillers for students

The "what to take to uni" thread was so useful I thought I'd start a festive one.

DD has said she still wants a stocking this year (bless). So I am looking for ideas of little things to go in it other than miniature bottles of alcohol

If you are doing a stocking, what are you putting in it?

I already have
some jokey post-it notes
a thing to measure helpings of spaghetti
chocolate reindeer (compulsory)

Stockings here have ...(and are a medium gift bag size)

Pants socks tights face wipes wash stuff deodorant stationary a silly thing or 2 ( eg one if those crystal growing trees!) .earphones ( got some silly angry birds ones from tkmaxx!) DVD /cd and lots of edibles. Oh and an annual ( might drop that this year but I bet they protest!)

Not exciting really but they all play the game and humour me .its sweet. I think alcohol might find its way into the older 2 now as they are big - and a nice lemonade for the youngest. That's a good plan!

iTunes/ Starbucks vouchers are a " proper present" to unwrap lol actually could go on a shoebox hunt and wrap them in disguise..

Last year we all had a primark fleece rug/blanket. That was a great value £5 pressie and we are all still using them.

iTunes voucher, stationary items - cute paper clips etc, bath bombs, lip gloss/balm, satsumas, nuts, small craft kit. Can tell I'm only used to making up girls stockings.

DS not a but he is 17 and does a lot of maths. He gets through dozens of pencils.
His favourite ever stocking gift was a USB powered electric pencil sharpener. Plugs into the laptop and sits on his desk.

I've had a calendar made with photos of her dog, found a poster she's been after for ages and £20s worth of fruit gums/pastilles and jelly tots as the only supermarket in walking distance is aldi and she hates their sweets - job done oh and a lindt reindeer, santa and chocolate money.

Theas I ALWAYS disguise little pressies like vouchers, cd's, dvd's etc in boxes. Sometimes even a box, in a box, in a box!! Apart from disguising easily recognisable items, they make the pressie pile look nice and big DD always moans and it's a bit of a standing joke now, but I'm sure she'd be disappointed if I didn't do it

When I was a student I was given a stocking containing little bits and bobs to keep me stocked up. Stuff like stamps, envelopes, deodorant, hairspray, decent shampoo, shower gel, cotton wool pads, nail polish remover, funky pens, nice little snacks to take back etc.

I remember loving going back in January well stocked for the coming term!

Bought some silly t shirts from play today - Santa for DS and elves for the girls. Brilliant!

Toastabags, alcohol miniatures, Anatomicals Bender Mender hangover cure sachets, The Spicery do great little seasoning pots like Peppery Salt and Sweet Chilli Flakes which might go down well.

All of mine (16,19,20,21) still have stockings. Two are at Uni.
They always get:

pants
socks
pjs (primark)
hair stuff (girls)
Lynx (boys)
a DVD
sweets
a funny mug

The rest varies.. Ds1 always has a Beano (I forgot one year and he was genuinely bothered!) and a whistle thing to find his car keys this year. Aftershave

Girls.. gloves, ear muffs, thick tights. Hot water bottles (they are both now in student houses!) and random stuff.. DD1 wanted a pedi egg for her feet (ugh) DD2 loves Benefit make up, so a bit of that. Their stockings are quite large, and they have had them from birth.

Ds2 is the biggest challenge as he is autistic and has learning disabilities and never asks for anything. Luckily he is obsessed with dr Who so his stocking as dvds, dr who socks, dr who towel, dr who poster....

Always a book that is a bit too young for him, so maybe something like the Alex Rider books that he loved when he was 12 to 14, as they come out I buy the latest even though he now reads Ian Rankin etc. Ditto a CD, something funny that he would have loved as a young pre-teen. I need a suggestion for this year!
His favourite jelly beans and bears, those gliders that cost about 30p, he loves mini pocket kites to take for walks. Maybe something small from Lego. Really bright stripy socks, he loves them. Gloves because he always loses them. Woolly hat ditto. boxer shorts. Maybe a little gadget, memory sticks are always popular and I get ones that clip on to things so they don't get lost quite so fast. Usually a joke book. Something chocolatey. A puzzle.

Madeofkent, lol at books a bit younger than them. Ds was flat in bed in hospital for 10 days so I read him Black Friday, the latest Cherub book. It was just like the old days ;-)
