Waht book keeping course would give a grounding for AAT level 2

I am planning to start the AAT level 2 course as a part time college course in September. I have a background in finance ( banking - in the City) but not accountancy. I have been provisionally accepted on the course because of my academic background ( Degree and ACIB exams) but have been advised that the course would be easier if I had some knowledge of manual book keeping prior to the course.
Have googled and there is a choice of AAT Bookkeeping, IAB or ICB.
I would be doing this simply to get a head start on the AAT level 2 and make sure that the book keeping/ accountancy route in the right career change.
I don't want to go back to the City and locally the only decent paid jobs seem to be in book keeping / accountancy ( I am not planning to do book keeping from home - I want to be in an office with other adults but part time to fit in with the children who are now all at school !).
If anyone has already been through this recently I would really welcome some advice on which book keeping course would provide good preparation for the AAT level 2.
Thanks

I did the IAB several years ago, and am now doing AAT3, as it is more widely known. I was able to go straight onto Level 3 because I had done the IAB, and those of us with the IAB qualification seem to find the AAT3 easier than those who came via AAT2. (Just my experience based on 24 people on the course so not a scientific truism Grin )
Not sure if this helps at all !
