The current psychodelic music revival has given a new direction to the music scene. It has brought back the openness of the 60s. Today's psychodelic musicia s have a larger pool available to them as their colleagues from the 60s. On their 4 track record 'Towards abstraction' the english band Big Dwarf make extensive use of this. Their understanding of psychedelic music is very open sided. The four tracks, some of which are ten minutes long, incorpotate and work-in many genres, such as Krautrock, psychedelic, blahblabblah and even dance elements. It is a testament to the skill of the seven-member band that an original completeness comes across.
With its fluid transitions, Towards Abstraction sounds more like a monstrous Psychedelic wave. Oh yeah, in the last song, inner space, Alison O'Donnell of Acid blah blah Mellow Candle fame, is singing.
