Does your house have seasonal hangover? Big clean up back to normal temp thread

Feelingood Tue 01-Jan-13 12:20:05

I've had my DM to stay for 8 nights shock

2 days of recovering from that then my DH has been off for two weeks hmm

Ive been happy to take a back seat and let DH do the domestic side, I've been spoilt really with all the cooking and getting kids dressed etc....Im a SAHP so a break is nice no?

Well the truth is now he is going back to work I'm just taking in wtchuff has been going on, the state the house is in.

There is chilli from here to everywhere, caked on t towels
The laundry is , i can't even say....it will take me two weeks i reckon with limited drying space.
The lounge i could see it was getting bad and need hovering but it took me ages to get it al up - it will need spot cleaning by hand and then shampooing
the bathrooms well I've kept the bleach going but they needs a good scrub
Ive cleared fridge - disgusting, there was sprouts from xmas day in there all mushed up - gross

Really, as greta as my DH has been and done all cooking, if I don't stick to my daily flyesque routine it all goes to pot truly it does.

So I needs a big clean up...

Feelingood Tue 01-Jan-13 13:36:05

c'on is everyone else's house immaculate? tell me I'm not the only one, boohoo.

Shinyshoes1 Tue 01-Jan-13 13:47:51

Mine is bad but nothing a day of cleaning wont sort .

babyicebean Tue 01-Jan-13 13:48:17

Mines a complete kip too.

runningforthebusinheels Tue 01-Jan-13 13:56:34

House with a hangover is such a good way putting it. Mine looks like a bomb has hit it - kids stuff/presents everywhere, needs a good hoover/mop, laundry mounting up. Everything needs cleaning basically. My excuse is a busy christmas, I was ill before xmas, and dh is ill with flu now sad

My NY resolution is to clean it all up, and throw loads out -go all minimalist. But I'm on MN instead! And I 've got to walk the dog before I do anything. And it's nearly 2pm already.

Oh dear.

onthemetro Tue 01-Jan-13 14:00:19

Mine is a big mess too, I feel your pain. There's just loads of stuff everywhere hmm we just got back from MILs on the 30th, we were there for over 2 weeks so got loads of laundry to do, the suitcases are just randomly in the hall, open with stuff spewing out, the kitchen is empty so we really need to go food shopping, and because there's nothing here we had a takeaway last night and there are takeaway boxes and bags and all sorts all over the coffee table. It's awful but won't take long til we're back in a routine.

You can do it, OP! I'm going to have a brew and then get cracking

Oreocrumbs Tue 01-Jan-13 14:16:12

<Looks around and could weep!>

Mine has gone beyond chaos! Presume it's filthy under all of the crap too, but I can't see that far wink.

We work more hours over the christmas fortnight than the rest of the year, so on top of the food, presents, general christmas chaos, we have no time!

I did intend to get all sorted with decluttering before christmas, but erm, didn't.

I'm starting today with rounding up and sorting out the rubbish and recycling.

Will identify which washing is most urgent and get that started.

Clear out fridge, round up and confiscate all choc and crisps (new year diet), and write a healthy shopping list.

Have just retrieved DD from grandma's so have 4 big supermarket bags for life of her stuff to sort, and my dogs are back tomorrow so need to sort out some floor space for them!!

Honestly, if anyone walked in just now I might die of shame.

Off work tomorrow so will make big efforts then.

runningforthebusinheels Tue 01-Jan-13 14:43:46

Ok - The dog is walked. I'm now going to take a deep breath, and do this:

Flylady crisis clean

Then I might have a go at this:

decluttering christmas

Happy cleaning all grin

Feelingood Tue 01-Jan-13 14:46:52

ohh hellos everyone, sorry been forced to go for a walk ill be back to compare and discuss strategies for laters

Chottie Tue 01-Jan-13 15:01:58

Well the tree is down, the cards have gone for recycling, the lounge and dining room have been dusted and vacuumed, the kitchen floor has been cleaned, ditto the oven.

The washing has been done and I am ploughing through a pile of ironing. DH and I have worked through the chores together and our house looks more like a home now smile

2kidsintow Tue 01-Jan-13 15:04:50

We've made a good start at ours today.
Tree is down, the decs have actually been sorted through and I've thrown old/broken lights and decs etc. All back in the loft.
DH did manage to push the hoover around, but only after a friend of ours turned up and he was shames into doing it!
DD1 has spent a day and a half sorting out her stuff and tidying up.

2 loads of laundry done and on the line, third lot in now. (Took a laundry holiday this week)
Dishwasher done and DH did a load of hand washing. (Then left the kitchen in a bombsite after making a lunch of leftovers)

Tablecloth and runner off the table and in the wash.
Children have had presents put in the toy cupboard in the dining room and what won't fit is banished to their rooms.

The playmobil advent calendar was taken apart and repacked into the right windows by DD.

All my hobbycraft purchases (bargains for next year) are packed away with the decs so they won't be forgotten about.

I think tomorrow will bring
*Stripping the beds
*Cleaning down the kitchen (deep clean into nooks and crannies)
*Washing the carpets in the kids rooms now their own trees are down and away.
*Doing a skip run with anything the binmen won't take.

Oreocrumbs Tue 01-Jan-13 15:06:30

Ooh I made a start!

Have stashed away the sweets, put some washing on... then gave up.

I seem a bit overwhelmed, but think I might take leaf out of Chottie's book, and get the tree down and cards out.

Will have to hunt the house high and low for the decorations, between DD and the cat they are scattered far and wide.

Feelingood Tue 01-Jan-13 20:01:49

Right I've made a start.

I've tidied through house and relocated items to their correct room for now, some room by room tweaking to be done. Toys are upstairs.

I've took decorations down and put them away.

Hooevered throughout

I've just made sausage casserole (no NY dinner for us) and wiped down benches, hob top and splashback.

There is a pile of dishes, dishwasher full of clean, leave that for ds in AM.

Laundry is piled upwall on top of darks/lights basket AND sorted piles in kitchen.

There has been two tips runs.

It's better, there is decluttering to do in each room.
Everywhere needs a good dust, polish and scrub - I'm doing this tomorrow.

<screws eyes> stop thinking about cupboard stop thinking about cupboard stop thinking about cupboard.

running go minimalist, I wish - thinks I might set a target date, maybe for spring, thanks for links, I have my timer the old fat fairy has helped me in the past think I'll do that tomorrow.
onthe thanks, pain shared n all that, hope you got on well with cracking on.
oreo I would die of shame too, I'm so pleased we've no one calling round, maybe that's why I've relaxed this much grin
chottie oh my you mentioned oven, my oven....oh dears, argh but I see you've made a good start,, little bit n all that.
2kids youve done a lot hats off to you.

Jajas Tue 01-Jan-13 20:15:14

My upstairs is pretty grim as we had people around last night so it all just got thrown up there. I can't bear it I really can't. Desperate for a day to myself where I can really set to and sort through it all.

Bins overflowing and so much recycling!

Tons of laundry where we've had guests but I can't dry everything as looks too messy.

Bathrooms were cleaned yesterday but with all the NYE revellers they all need doing again - nothing serious but half the guests were young children so I need say no more!

This is a good thread for motivation - off to stick another load of washing on and sweep the kitchen floor.

Feelingood Tue 01-Jan-13 20:42:35

jajas. Well done for having guests last night. I havnt been in a position to have guests for number of weeks IMO.

I think I know I set slightly too high a standards some times but whenever I goe to other peoples it's always immaculate like its never been dirty etc I have ishooossss.

On another note I have my ds (6) here who will help or keep in his room out of way but my little dd (11mnths) is the boss and chief, I'll see how I get on if she 'lets' me get on.

But my beloved DH will be at work. smile I've had enough of him after two weeks. He's done his own sandwiches and ironed his own shirts, (wow for the week)

It's funny if the kids didn't need constantly feeding then they'd be much easier I don't mind the rest of it tbh. grin

Oreocrumbs Tue 01-Jan-13 22:46:43

I did a bit more.

Sorted out the rubbish. Took all of the toys out of the boxes and sorted the recycling - they are coming tomorrow thank goodness because my pile is huge! It looks more like a warehouse bin depot, not a family of 3's confused.

Took some decorations down, will do the tree tomorrow. To be honest I pretty much gave up, I'm tired, only had 3 hours sleep last night, so will make a good effort tomorrow.

Have DP and DD at my mercy to help so hopefully I will be able to report good progress!

Oreocrumbs Wed 02-Jan-13 10:38:08

I'm doing well today - have been out in the rain and taken the lights down, tree down and out, piled all of the dec boxes up to go in the loft including the stuff from last year that only made it as far as the spare room blush.

Just waiting for DP to help put them up in the loft.

Have done some washing, about to do some more, and sorted the heap of clean washing that was taking up the kitchen sofa into the relevant piles to be put away.

Off to empty and refill the dishwasher and put all of the christmas presents away in the right rooms!

Jajas Wed 02-Jan-13 16:26:35

It's the piles of washing that get me down. It is all clean but oh god there is so much of it!

Took the tree down today and have spent all afternoon hoovering, sorting recycling, pushing furniture back etc.

I love Christmas but boy it is hard work. Sad space where the tree was sad

Oreocrumbs Wed 02-Jan-13 16:42:34

Got distracted by ndn with a play date so no more progress. Will put the stuff in the loft tonight.

I know what you mean about washing. There are only 3 of us - why we get through so much is beyond me!

I think it will take a few more days before I actually get on top of this place!

Feelingood Fri 04-Jan-13 13:28:06

Bloody hell! I forgot all about thread as it's been so low done on threads I'm on list!

Well, it fits and starts here. oreo can't believe you've hosted a playdate. I thanked my lucky stars dc's asked if he could stay, instant guilt relief from not taking him swimming or to park. for affirmation purposes I have:

Been to tip
Took clothes back
Shopped real one and online
Kitchen, Xmas crockery n posh glasses etc put away, table cleared of crap, got on top of dishes blush tidied out food cupboards, fridge and wiped round pan cupboard. DH is not allowed in the kitchen again, it's not worth it, so much stuff displaced etc.
Living room clear but need to declutter wall unit hmm
Laundry oh for the life of me it mountainous I've done three loads, I really need to crack on, I'm down to my last towels and the beds need stripping.......[steps tragedy emoticon]

Well after my lazy day yesterday, I have done some this am. I need to finish off downstairs really as its ds birthday tomorrow. We have the pleasure of balloons and streamers!

Feelingood Fri 04-Jan-13 18:52:04

Just stay there jas it's nearly soaps time bedtime!

I had a dreadful day yesterday I felt terrible so I'm steaming ahead today. The laundry just keeps giving and giving angry and, .....and why do I never have anything to wear then?

Feelingood Fri 04-Jan-13 19:11:00

Dam DH has got home, I must stop now arrffff.

harbingerofdoom Fri 04-Jan-13 19:14:30

The house is superficially back to normal but needs a deeper clean once it's emptied of humans messy things.

Why is it,that for weeks after Christmas, the floors twinkle at me? Mainly the main areas that are hoovered daily (with a good vacuum). I hate glitter [grrrrrrr]

Jajas Fri 04-Jan-13 19:35:56

I need to do something though as all too depressing. Took the tree down 3 days ago but all the decorations are still lying on the sofa and coffee table, it's just so me to half do a job.

Feelingood Tue 08-Jan-13 18:43:32

How you doing all, oh it's faltering here faltering. Ive even started a thread about the bloody laundry sad

Oreocrumbs Tue 08-Jan-13 19:26:42

It's all gone to hell in a handcart here!

House is still back to being dreadful. DD started nursery today and it took me almost an hour to locate her backpack last night!

I'm sorely tempted to hire a big skip and chuck the lot in and start again from scratch.

Just realised DP has no clean uniform for work - he starts in 40 mins so febreeze it is shock.

Still haven't put the decs in the loft.

I'm just so tired! Must crack on, the stuff came from lakeland so I might try and make use of them and clear some wardrobes out..... tomorrow.

Feelingood Wed 09-Jan-13 10:32:29

orecrumbs I'm shattered from doing unix work. DH away til tomorrow night so I'm just keeping surfaces clear, hoovering floor and 'just enough' laundry!

Well I talk you about febreeze - it's usually sock here.

DS had not PE kit blush I did ask him mon and he said it was needed for Thursday! It's not good.

We've lived out of leftovers odds and ends in freezer too - kids had a mix of wedges, Chips and mini waffles and one fish between them!

I will cook tomorrow I'm off to check slow cooker thread as that's one thing I've been organised about grin

swanthingafteranother Wed 09-Jan-13 11:31:05

I'm going to join despite being on Flyladies thread blush as my house needs a serious spring clean/declutter since Christmas

I am so sympathetic about the laundry, there seems to be piles and piles, both clean and dirty

started
deep cleaning our bedroom. Hung up all clothes
changed sheets
pile of clothes that could be eventually ironed but not needed for a while
pjs in one place, undies in one place, scarves in one place
big declutter of sponge bags/bins in bedroom
removed all stuff from bedroom basin in prep for cleaning
threw away some old cardboard/toys in corner
piled up books neatly
moved some books from under wardrobe prior to hoovering
stuff downstairs
dirty laundry from bedroom into main laundry pile

will update!

swanthingafteranother Wed 09-Jan-13 11:32:36

Oh yes, and Xmas stuff in big crate. Ongoing. It's a smart hamper with a lid that I keep in our bedroom so can add to it whenever I want. Stops stuff accumlating on landing which is what happened for years and the stuff never got put away till march Feb.

Feelingood Wed 09-Jan-13 13:04:14

My dear swanthing I admire you gusto, you sound like I did at the start of the thread. I'm wiped out today. I think I'll just try and get to school pick up docs appt the tea, bed.

I'll start fresh tomorrow grin

<swoons at the Idea of someone changing sheets> I'm not dirty iykwim but the should have been done on Mon....

Actually is houldnt be too hard on myself I did out secs away and declutter kitchen do all cupboards etc.

I'll do a list, see what you've started swan I feel guilty now <looks around for oero>

swanthingafteranother Wed 09-Jan-13 14:57:36

I'll join you in giving up now wink

determined to get one shoe box of decs upstairs though...just one grin

done
last year's xmas cards away (for reference!)
3 bags decluttered of "stuff" I've decided to give up on
thrown away remains of the goose

Viviennemary Wed 09-Jan-13 15:00:51

Mine is pretty bad. I was just getting it straight when then Christmas descends and it's downhill from then on. The lounge is almost passable but most of the rest has hardly been touched re dusting tidying and so on. We have a chronic shortage of storage space so there is nowhere to put things. But I probably do have too much stuff.

Oreocrumbs Wed 09-Jan-13 15:45:13

I'm here! And I've acheived...erm nothing.

Have put the work clothes in the wash today but they are still in the machine. Have done nothing else!

Have been out shopping and bought some plastic drawers to put the art and crafts stuff in and some big plastic boxes for storage, but they have been dumped in the kitchen and so far have just added to the mess rather than helped!

Had DD's 2 new car seates delivered today and I've had to store them in the car as there isn't enough room in the hall blush.

We ARE going to put the stuff in the loft tonight though unless I get distracted again.

I'm not even going to mention that I had a tesco delivery on monday and some of that is still on the floor bench waiting to move into a cupboard.

I'm not doing very well.

Feelingood Wed 09-Jan-13 19:10:26

swan you can wear the crown grin Im pleased youve had a productive day. <hope it rubs off on the rest of us>

I will have a clean up, I find when I am in the mood I can give the house a good shake down. Then I'm pretty good at doing a bit of a daily routine that I sort of got from flylady.

vivienmary there there mine is the same, well I wouldn't be inviting anyone round soon. We can take it nice and easy.

oreo go girl go get that loft hatch open.

I have plastic drawers x 2 under stairs they full of stuff I never seem to use hmm no it's a declutter I need. Including a clothes cull.

I'm so tired today for working on uni stuff v late so I shall try and catch up and do a b it of house and bit of uni work tomorrow.

<thinks when kids have gone I can get the ice cream out>

Oreocrumbs Wed 09-Jan-13 20:38:33

Loft hatch remains shut, and DP has just retired for the night so looks like it will be next monday now. Unless he will get up super early to take the dogs out and then we can do it while DD is at nursery.

I have done another couple of loads of laundry so that is something and I have built the plastic drawers. Have just gone to round up the playdoh bits for it and have discovered that DD has opened 2 extra pots that I didn't know about and I can't find the contents confused.

Lord only knows where that has ended up. Dogs may have eaten it - but then they haven't shown an inclination to before, or more likely she has stuffed it somewhere I will not discover untill we move I do a deep clean.

I have a new plan. I'm going to store DP, DD and Ddogs in the loft - my house will be instantly cleaner, tidier and more managable grin.

swanthingafteranother Wed 09-Jan-13 21:56:25

All the decs are now boxed up and on the landing
All the sheets are changed
I'm just about to put the master bedroom back together again, as there is jif on all the bathroom areas still needing to be cleaned off, and sheets still not on the bed. However it is much cleaner now.
Big box of toys going under the playroom table, down from our bedroom
Clean tablecloth away in cupboard
food compost emptied again

House still looks a tip though. It will look better in about 2 days I reckon.

swanthingafteranother Wed 09-Jan-13 21:57:28

oreo I love playdough, I would eat it if I could...mine are too old for it sadly

swanthingafteranother Wed 09-Jan-13 22:40:12

master bedroom back together again, and ensuite cleaned.
more cardboard out for recycling

Oreocrumbs Thu 10-Jan-13 08:09:10

Well done swan! Still no sign of the playdoh. DP hasn't walked dogs yet so no loft today, but I am going to be productive.

Will set to when I get home from nursery, DP can walk the dogs and I will achieve something.

I plan to put together at least one bin bag for charity/bin of clothes.

Empty and refill dishwasher and washing machine.

Tidy the kitchen, quick clean and clean bathrooms.

Also collect and sort out rubbish and recycling.

What is it with cardboard boxes? Do the sneak in to breed in the night? They seem to grin.

Oreocrumbs Thu 10-Jan-13 17:15:54

Stoopid internet has been down today so I have been cleaning!

I've made a good dent in the washing mountain, and did the kitchen, bathrooms and had a quick run around with the hoover.

Need to get on top of the disorder still, but at least the house feels a bit fresher.

I will sort out some clothes for charity tonight. That should be an achievable task.

Found a bit of playdoh - about half a tub, the rest is still AWOL!

Feelingood Thu 10-Jan-13 23:44:59

im nearly back on top < waves >

its late so i post tomorrow v tired n headache all day xwink

swanthingafteranother Fri 11-Jan-13 10:09:31

yesterday I was in bed ill, so nothing much tackled.

Today I am going to sort out the playroom (which was where the Xmas tree was, so truly horrendous in there) Also I think a bean bag is leaking sad

Will try two hours in there and see if it makes a difference wink

Feelingood Fri 11-Jan-13 13:15:24

Hello house hangovers, are we still feeding the ibuprofen and fluids? grin

swan leaky beanbags sound quite fiddled and unpleasant, will it Hoover up? We don't have a playroom but a bedroom full of that trofast storage, need to sort out next week after uni deadline. May the force be with you.. I hope you are feeling better.

oreo snap, I too made a dent in laundry pile til DH arrived home with a bag full. Which is why I flew round and dusted and hoovered bedroom, living room decluttered living room units. Did bathrooms.

So I'm tidy and clean but I don't feel it's back to how I had it before Halloween, which was the start of the creeping mess. I need to clean windows, carpets and yuk out cupboards. I also tons of crumpled basket and crib (no longer used by baby!) filled with clean clothes - folding, hanging and some ironing.

I have worn the style of outfits all week jeans plus long jumper. I need to sort so I can actually wear some of my nicer stuff.

Oreocrumbs Fri 11-Jan-13 15:42:58

Ha I was just thinking that about my wardrobe too! I have 4 pairs of M&S jeggings (that all go in the same wash load) on permanent rotation, with a few tops and that is all I have worn for ages!

Lord knows I have plenty of clothes, I can't move for the bloody things, but I seem to wear wash and wear again (because I'm too lazy to sort them out!)

Have just come home from my very tidy friends house, she has 3 young dc, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits and a fish tank, and her house is always clean and tidy! I feel inspired to do more, but I'm off to get ready for work, then we are staying at my mother's for the weekend, so it won't be untill next week that I can really get going.

Might have a crack on on sunday night when we get back, or I might watch dancing on ice and mr selfridge! Will see how inspired I feel at the time grin.

Feelingood Fri 11-Jan-13 22:22:30

Oreo - I wore a new dress this afternoon after that and heavy wrap over jersey dress, and I only could find black jeggings no tights, by the time I got chunky heel rider boots on it looked ok., dressed it down a bit with casual scarf.

I really need some new knickers! <randomised thoughts now>

is your friend huse really clean all the time, do you call around unannounced? After years of feeling domestically inferoeioroty type of complex I'm beginning to wonder...they must get messy in between. I have theories that are favoured on my mood:

1) I must be lazy, everyone's else always seem tidy I CBA to spend loads of time everyday cleaning up specks

2) They must be sad and obsessive as they spend too much time cleaning

3) They have loads of family to help with kids and things that frees them up to do stuff

4) They don't live in their house properly, and treat it like a museum

I spend too much time thinking about this, I know I have issues! grin

I've learnt to live with the good enou principle and not aim for perfection, til the next time I see somones lovely house on a visit!

Oreocrumbs Sat 12-Jan-13 11:50:16

I usually agree with your theory but this friend is different!

I have another tidy friend, but she treats the house like a museum - she won't let her 2yr old play with her dolls house because she messes up the furniture inside sad.

But this other friend, is my best friend and yes I have been there at any time of the day or night unannounced and she is always tidy! I've been there when she is mid cleaning, but that is as close to a mess as I've seen! The kids make a mess, and before you know it she has it tidy again confused. I've been there when they are playing and there are toys all over and in the next second they are gone confused.

Her DC are all close in age too she had 3 under 5 a year ago! And she doesn't have any family here, and spends lots of time with the DC.

She loves to clean too. She does my mum's cleaning for her when her cleaner is off because she loves it so much! She is itching come round here and sort me out!

Makes me look like a right slob with my one young child and tip of a house.

Feelingood Sat 12-Jan-13 13:06:31

WHATTTTTTT! You have a friend who is willing to come round and clean for you? I'd be buying doe nice coffee n biscuits in readiness grin

Nothing going on here today's crept lazying on sofa on here. I will make sure no extra mess is made.

I have uni deadline for Tuesday, so will do cooking and get clothes ready only. I needs to do understair cupboard.

Oreocrumbs Wed 16-Jan-13 20:18:12

How are we all doing?

Hope you got your uni work finished Feelingood.

No change here, the place so disorganised still that although I've been quite busy, it is taking all of my time to do regular house work - so no progress made.

Things just keep cropping up! Was all set to do some digging out while DD was in nursery, but we had bad snow so after I walked the dogs I had an hours set aside for that, but spent that hour clearing the estate so I could get the car out!

Then of course we had to go sledging in the afternoon!

Think my SF is going to have my dogs away for a few days next week so that will free up a lot of time and I promise to use it wisely!

Feelingood Fri 18-Jan-13 21:25:51

Hello oreo yes i got it in thanks. I love studying then feel guilty when im near deadline cos nothing gets done.

Oooo similar here too, things are ok down stairs as re normal cleaning but need to get a deeper level done really, like windows, carpets shampooed.

Upstairs is a mess. Pile of clothes and ds has been allowed to have his Lego skylander city fill hi floor for weeks now. Beds need changing, bathroom needs a scrub.

We snowed in now prob for a few days so might tackle upstairs. Least OU got some fun out of it I felt mean I told ds he had to stay in today and we don't have a sledge. I think I might try to get him one.

buildingmycorestrength Sun 20-Jan-13 22:16:11

Hello! Am just recovering after two children's borthdays quickly after Christmas - last party was yesterday so am planning big clean up /chuck out/ sorting out this next week. Trips to the tip as bins are overflowing, new shelves as old one fell down, etc etc. Lots to do!

Feelingood Mon 21-Jan-13 00:56:07

Hello building, this thread is moving v v slowly correlated to house taks avoidance! Welcome post your list up tomorrow if you like.

I must

Put clean clothes away
Laundry x 3
Dust and Hoover bedrooms
Scrub bathroom
Hoover stairs

Make an eyeball - snow day projects
Read enchanted wood with ds
Keep dd fed and tempered!

Oh and DH is working from home so probably not be able to Hoover much!

buildingmycorestrength Wed 23-Jan-13 12:24:50

hi! Have had a big sort out in the kitchen this morning, and defrosted the freezer too!

This afternoon is sorting out my daughter's clothes.

Am managing to stay on top of email so that is helping with stress levels smile

Oreocrumbs Thu 24-Jan-13 19:01:36

Gah the world is conspiring against me!

This afternoon, I set about sorting out the big airing cupboard. Armed with my new vac bags from lakeland and ready to wage war.

Got one filled, then the other big one broke and the rest were too small hmm.

Then the cat decide he was moving in there and went on the attack every time I tried to shift him.

Then DP arrived, found some old boxing mags and decided to sit RIGHT THERE are read them grrrrrr.

Then DD came to play and I gave up.

I shoved everything back in in a worse state than before confused.

So one step forward and two steps back seems apt today.

When the snow clears I'm going to have a day sorting out the garage so I can get a builder round to price knocking some holes in it!

I've done superficial cleaning stuff downstairs. I'm in bit of a hole generally.

Upstairs is tip. Can't have anyone over. I've used the snow as an excuse not to go out.

My roots need doing badly, diet is shocking and I've overspent this month had to put last shop and petrol on credit card.

I need to get a grip really and get organised! I have got ds to school and fed them all and done uni work, so I'm not a total washup but I feel pretty grim today.

Well done for getting the bags at least, sounds like you had a few saboteurs! What do you want holes in garage for? Or have I misunderstood?
