Dcs x 2 to school with completed forms
and homework grin Dh took them - kind man - in gratitude for me finding his umbrella

Now today I am going to get all schooly things out of the way by 11.00 and ds1 and I can then spend the afternoon relaxing.

Starbear Fri 20-Nov-09 09:09:47

Morning Swan raining her too. I don't mind as I'm at home and really happy to be here smile Hope you feel better soon. Hope you have time to nap and get better.

How was your week Starbear?

Starbear Fri 20-Nov-09 09:25:23

Not good but I won't bore you here. Some postive stuff from Sgt. Just did a little work and now I'm going to put it all away in
a filing cabinet and not think about it again until Tuesday!
Must Must crack on and return with a list.
Are the pain killer working?

Morning all
DH and I had a bit of a talk last night and he made all the right responses in all the right places (i.e. not judging, trying to fix, or thinking I was blaming him!)ifyswim. So I feel a bit better today.
No rain here yet.
DD's new build a bear (SIL bought yesterday for her birthday) has lost its monkey noise already. May be taking back this morning.
Feel dreadful too, just a cold though I think.
Lots to do before party on Sunday but haven't done any of it! It's all friends coming so I'm not so bothered. They love me, not my house [in]
Hugs to all who feel overwhelmed or ill
BBL

Morning, morning, morning all

I've got the day off cos have no childcare but Grandad taken DD for the morning so I have 3 hours to myself - Yippee!! - So i'm off to the gym (just charging Ipod)

Then this afternoon me and DD are going to brave Meadowhell to get some xmas shopping and DH's birthday shopping done. I'm bribing her with a McDonalds - I know thats really bad but its the only time I'm going to get to do it and I need bits that I just can't get online.

I've sorted three loads of washing that needs to be done today so will have to do these inbetween and need to tidy up from the bomb (DH) that went off in my kitchen yesterday

I have also just found out that I've got an interview for a PGCE place so I have to turn the house upside down cos they need to see my GCSE certificates - arghhhhh. So i'm stressed looking for them before I even think about the presentation on behaviour management that I need to prepare.

Then off out tonight to Beautiful South concert in Sheffield - Can't wait to see if they are as good without the lead singer.

Must get on really - loads to do today

Hope you are all well - Tea, I have just seen your curry receipe on your blog - DH is a big curry fan, may have to give that a whirl.

Whilst i'm here, having an argument with DH about DD's birthday - She is 4 at the end of the month and he wants a birthday party but I think she is too young and cos she is only at nursery three afternoon's a week doesn't know enough people - I can only name two children that she is friends with. Did anyone else have birthday parties at a young age and were they a success. I think we should wait till she is at school properly.

Hello to everyone else - Off to gym back later

just aaaarrrggghhhh sad

will bbl...can't really post just now....

3 hours semi sleep only...dd4 ill....guests just aaaaarrrrggghhh angry....wonders if is too early for ginshock?????????

an [in] is a grin lol

Oh dear OFM. Be kind to yourself and take deep breaths and count to ten a million times. Def too early for gin but not coffee or tea or cake grin. Guests will be gone soon

I hope they don't test my english skills at the interview. Where was most of my punctuation!

swanriver Fri 20-Nov-09 09:40:59

MC I think it's nice to have a party with even just two friends (if they definitely will commit to coming - v. important that they don't cancel at last minute shock)
Then do craft (something they can take home afterwards)with them, or go on a little outing or even just have them round for a play with birthday cake thrown in. There's lots of singing games you can play with three successfully, even if you don't play the big games like p the p or musical bumps.
Also, even if guests aren't all her age it can still be an occasion, so if you have siblings of the friends too...

OFM - shock and sympathy. Could dog be an ally?

Makingchanges I'd just have a party with her two friends, and family! She'll love it! I have had parties every year for my DC since they were 1 and they love parties! Great news on PGCE interview.

swanriver Fri 20-Nov-09 09:45:34

MC the hunt for certificates.
Now I know why people have them framedon the mantlepiece.

TeaMonster Fri 20-Nov-09 09:54:35

sending calming vibes and gin if nec to galen*

I meant to say thank you very much. bah to the bear

MC have a small party. I made cakes and the boys decorated them with their cousins and 1 friend for MaxiMads birthday this year

Swan rest easy lady

Star I wanted to say I couldnt do your job and send all my love and that!!

Still v tired. Mini full of goo

Peeing down this morning and I am feeling very sad about all the flooding and the poor police officer who is missing.

DH birthday tomorrow. We have no cash at all so have bought him 2 star bars and a bag of malteezers for him and we are going to make cards and a cake. I hope this is acceptable.

I need to get some stuff on e-bay to get cash to pay for food next week. I am so stressed about it all.

Poor Tea. DH will not want you to spend money on something for his birthday. Does he read? My DH treasures the book mark we made him two years ago for his birthday. Just a bookmark sheet of card, glued photos of children on it, and laminated. Or could you burn him a CD of 'your' favourite music?
Just trying to get through to Bear shop. I have no receipt, SIL at work.
Need to find some motivation!

Credit card bill just come. Think I am stressed with you, Tea!

swanriver Fri 20-Nov-09 10:28:06

And I am feeling stupidly stressed about what to do for childcare in order to get to a godchild's confirmation (only just announced angry at 7.00pm on a Friday outside London - just want to say I can't come in circumstances, but godchild will be v. upset and mother miffed, and dh narky I am doing something "unnecessary".
But I am ridiculous to worry, as you have real worries TM.
My parents always used to write each other silly semi-learned poems or limericks every year, rather than proper presents.

Morning all*

feel for you. I think I've lost my birth certificate since putting them some where more sensible I know where I use to keep it.hmm I used to shocked that people would lose their Birth certificate now here I am.
Makingchanges We've like blow out partys with the world & his wife. But it's hard work & expensive. Have couple of friends around & cousins. You can then spoil them with fancy food. My sister does craft parties with 3-4 friends they work realy well.
Wendy That's mine kind of party, lovely friend who just don't care 'cause they love you.
TM Thank you. Not sure I want to do it any more. But I do like my public.
TM & Wendy You've just reminded me must get a photo of Ds & me to put in DH's wallet.
OFM Good luck
Back with a list

swanriver Fri 20-Nov-09 11:16:45

childcare. dh is my childcare, but he is not religious, extremely jealous of demands of time and money of my seven godchildren shock and fed up with my thousands of relatives all having funerals, parties which I have to attend and which he covers for...
Need to find a friend to cover who can deal with non-walking ds etc, so must just get my skateson.

Simply Fri 20-Nov-09 11:33:35

Swan Hope you managed to find a babysitter. Very short notice I agree.

Star Dont worry about upsetting me at all.

Wendy CC are at limt - ho hum. Life can sometimes do these things, we will manage we have to as I have said before no starving as we can live on spuds and lentils.

DH knows I love him, I am sure, plus he loves malteazers almost as much as he loves me!!

Me and Mini have clean upstairs
Changed my bed
mopped the bathroom floor, well mini did really. Child labour going on in this house

I have friends DS after school, it is going to be a regular thing for 3 hours ish a week, as a favour. I am happy about it as she always helps me when she can.
