Hi,
Would have put this in Products except this forum gets more traffic and thought it linked okay here too.
We are hopefully buying our first house soon so will need to buy a fridge freezer (the upright half and half type with freezer on bottom). A new washing machine, dishwasher and gas cooker (all standard sized ones). I do not have a clue where to start- white goods not being something I am very experienced in!
I guess we don't want to spend a fortune but we are prepared to pay for something that does the job well and will last so we probably won't buy the cheapest (unless the best is the cheapest of course!).
So any recommendations (or advice on brands/types to avoid)? Also where is best to get such things?
We recently got a new kitchen, and had to get new appliances, not that we wanted them, but none were working properly.
Washing machine -- we got a Bosch, but it's quite noisy. Should have gotten a Miele
Gas Cooker -- Kenwood 5 ring. Great. Does the job

Miele fridge beautiful and so quiet you think it's off. Bought a Hotpoint freezer for the utility and it sounds like a jumbo jet, truly awful.
Caple oven, Italian darrling! check out CDA too.
My much loved Miele dishwasher was miles better than the Bosch I have now.
Kitchen Science does a good discount if you are buying several things. Excellent service and good delivery times.

I once did my whole kicthen in hotpoint, cooker, hood, wm, td, dw and fridge and freezer.
It was lovely! All in that graphite grey too
All worked well too
Damn, why did I divorce ex and leave him in the house ....
Fridge freezer - Liebherr
Dishwasher - Miele
Washing machine - Miele
Gas cooker - Aga Six-Four
After innumerable cheaper washing machines(Indesit,Hotpoint)that gave up after 2 or 3 years (usually when the warranty run out!) I went for a Bosch this time, worth reading all the reviews, and it has been terrific, and well worth the xtra few pounds. I shopped around the net and the Co-op were offering the best deal by far, and were extremely efficient with delivery. I have an LG Fridge/Freezer first time for me, and it's now 5 years old and has been no problem, have never had to defrost the freezer (although it's not supposed to be necessary anyway) and it's not noisy that I've noticed. I have a gas hob, (electric fan oven)and got a Baumatic 5 ring hob 5 years ago, which has also had no problems and I cook a lot! We were flooded out of our house 5 years ago and had to replace all our white goods in one go. Nightmare!!
