miele, just get one of their cheaper models it's all the same basic machine your paying more for the extras that come with it and whether the controls are manual or elecric.

Actually, as I posted I thought about the possibility of it being the electrics.
The pump has gone on the power shower, fan on the oven and the hoover! ARGGGGHHHHHHH

Think it is just bad luck though!

"death touch" grin
thanks for that....funny!
I'm so tired and really want to just get cleared up and put my feet up.
Have not had a day off for two weeks.
Why do I do the hoovering anyway.....I WANT A CLEANER!
Just a thought but have you had your wiring/sockets checked? It might not be the qulaity of the hoover.
I kept blowing things for a good 3 years before someone suggested getting it looked at and lo and behold an unearthed socket was the problem.

Get laminate flooring? Most of our floors are laminate, much simpler. Gave up with vaccum cleaners as I don't have much luck with them either. Now use a stiff brush wherever we have carpets. Much more reliable when you've got the electrical appliance death touch.

Got someone important coming around tomorrow morning and the carpet really needs to be hoovered.

Any recommendations on reliable models ?

Does more £ = reliability?

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
