welcome to the world of focus/fords wierd keys/central locking!
I've given up with the remote - I can get it to work for a while and then it dies again(although I really should try again). I now just use the key in the lock. The central locking on mine works on three doors - leaving the back door on drivers side unlocked/locked! Unlocking the drivers side sometimes unlocks the other doors and sometimes unlocks them 10 minutes later as I'm driving along! The passenger side always works!
If you google focus and central locking you will get loads of items about how it goes AWOL. There are also loads of comments about the fuse issue - plus how to fix it your self.

having said that i know of 2 friends who have taken theirs back to ford and spent the £80 and theirs are still ok so far...

good luck

when mine died it was due to a blown fuse. can't you take it to local independent garage and get them to have a look instead?
Hi, we just replaced the battery ( as per user guide) to our old focus (2001/X reg) and now the key won't transmit to remotely unlock/lock the doors. It will open them manually etc and start the car so it is coded correctly.

Ford want £80 to reprogramme it angry !

Has anyone had this problem before - if so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
