We have a lovely big chrome mixer tap in the kitchen, but it's driving me mad. It doesn't have any limescale on it but constant splash marks. What can I clean it with to stop this happening? At the moment I'm just using surface spray on the tap when I wipe down the kitchen.
Not really sure, but baby oil is great for cleaning our chrome fridge door and cooker hood - just a spot on a soft cloth and buff. Won't stop it getting marked though...
I find that once I have cleaned it, I have to polish ours dry. They sparkle for a few minutes then!
I use Viakal when I get these marks.
I don't normally polish dry, so will try that thanks! Do you think I'm just going to have to live with the splash marks then or is there something that will sort of repel them?
shinky sinks is good.
Get an E cloth - or any of the other microfibre ones and wipe it down if it gets splashed - tedious but does the job! Also great on gloss worktops and stainless steel sinks.
Was also going to say microfibre cloth - used dry will bring it up lovely.Doesn't stop it getting marked - but keep it by the sink and get into the habit of wiping down after washing up will help. It is easy as you haven't got to get cleaning fluids out , rinse away etc...
ooh DH has got some microfibre clothes for his motorbike, will pinch one and give it a go! Sounds like it would be good on the granite too. I've not heard of Shiny Sinks, will have a look. Thanks
For all water marks (kitchen and bathroom) I spray on white vinegar and then wipe off with a microfibre cloth. Comes up like new.
Thanks Jellyshoes. Good old white vinegar - is there anything it doesn't do?
