a hometek one from pricedrop tv bid tv or speed auction tv they are like a cylinder vacuem and are fab and bout £20-£30
How small £ is small £? You get what you pay for unfortunately, but the Karcher ones are really fab.
I just got the SC1122 which is really really excellent and was £120 including loads of free cloths and nozzles. Have seen them on Ebay for £65 though, and I bet one of the less all singing all dancing models would be pretty damn good for less £££ too.
I just spent ages researching steam cleaners and in terms of performance for money Karcher is the best bet I reckon (german engineering) though Polti probably best overall but very £££.
I got mine from here which has them the cheapest as far as I could find.
I am in steam heaven! I will never mop again - no stupid slopping buckets and wipe wipe wipe just a quick going over with the cloth and floor tool and it came up a treat. Highchair cleaning now a joy. What a complete sad life I lead, you must be thinking...wait till you get one, then you will understand. Bit like having a kid really.
We have a Polti 2400 vaporetto which is FANTASTIC. Bought from John Lewis. It is totally addictive. We used the wallpaper stripper last week and it made the job much easier. It does everything you can think of but you have to be careful not to go at paintwork too heavily as it can melt it!! Particularly brilliant for shower cubicle.
I just sold my Karcher and bought a Polti! I'm evangelical about them.
where did you get it from?
Got mine from here free delivery and lowest price I could find after a good trawl...
Thank you
Hi, thanks for the advice, was looking for steam cleaner too and didnt know where to start.
wanted all doing all singing one, so thank you for info, have just bought the Polti 2400!
I've been thinking about a steam cleaner for a while, but my max budget would have to be about £80.
My step mum saw one on QVC but didn't mange to get the details for me
Does ayone know if I am dreaming at getting a decent-ish one his price? I'd want it for general houselhold cleaning as I struggle with scrubbing/wiping for longm, thing like bath, tiles and windows etc.
Came on here to look for info about steam mops. I only really want something to clean our wooden floors. Was looking at this Lakeland one but now am wondering if this shark one would be better. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
Alternatively should I just stick with my old fashioned mop?
Ive got the polti vaporetto comfort its a good all rounder for less than £80.00
Is the difference with the polti one a bit like the difference between hoovers - some prefer upright and some prefer cylinder or are there other differences? Thanks
Thanks Doctor. I htink I will order one of those now! I've seen reviews that are good about polti so its time to take the plunge.

My one was on ideal world and my mum got one. She steam cleaned all my carpets and my oven and I was sold. Ideal world's are more expensive but they often do a demo on the model which is worth watching for tips.
Are these for carpets too? I'm looking for one that does carpets.
The Polti sounds brilliant.

Do you mean this Steam Mop from QVC?
I have a Polti. It's gone out on loan to a few people over the years. What do you use yours for?
The Karcher window cleaner vac is excellent as is the Shark steam pocket mop no complaints. I've used a Lakeland steam mop also and it's decent, basic but effective and good price wise. The worst steam mop I've ever used is the Vax, I'd honestly rather get the mop and bucket out, useless.
I use my polti to steam mop floors, steam carpets, i clean my leather suite with it. I've done my hob, kitchen and bathroom but i prefer to do it with flash and then use the steamer to keep it fresh.
Think of it in terms of any hard surface you could get a bucket of water and wash it down but with the steam cleaner your wiping that moisture away so everything comes up clean but dry!
e1y1, it might have been that one, I didn't see it.
The reviews of that one don't look great tbh. Have you used it?
Its around the price I have to spend, but I want the best possible for my cheapo budget
