How can I whiten a yellowed linen top?

I have a lovely white linen tunic from The White Company which has gone a bit yellowy. I think that I wore it on holiday over a swim suit and I think the yellowy bits are from sun tan lotion. I've tried washing it but it still looks a bit discoloured.

How can I whiten it?

Wait for the next sunny day and wash it then dry it outside. I wasn't sure I believed this about sunshine but hung a top of dd's out last week (white with tomato stains) and after about 6 hrs of direct sunlight I can barely see the stains!

You can also get whitening products but I've not tried these...

An eggcup of bleach in a basin of cold water. Soak top for a couple of hours, wash as normal.

You can buy a sachet from supermarkets that whitens discoloured whites. I think it made by dylon or something like that.

Leave it on the line for a week or so, it will be pristine.

I would try that Vanish stain remover stuff you bung in the wash - it's amazing stuff!

Lemon juice on the stain, then sunshine
