Call someone who sells marble flooring and ask them. I am honestly not sure.

I do think it is possible to get the floor refinished and then put something down, like a wax or sealant, to protect the floor in the future.

Ah, never thought of it like that! I know not to put acid based cleaners anywhere near marble as it etches it.

Does that mean I'm stuck with the marks?

No, I don't. The lime scale is essentially the same material as the floor and so you can't use acid to dissolve it.

We've got marble floor tiles in our bathroom (not polished) and they're really suffering from lime scale deposits left from water splashing on the floor and when it dried out, it leaves the marks behind.

Does anyone know of any way to clean these off relatively easily?
