Yes, I love my gigantic American washing machine, but it is in storage
and I'm guessing you want something a little more local.
I'm not overly familiar with the brands over here, but our rental house has a Bosch that needed one of the paddles replaced and the repairman said if it had been a Hotpoint he could have fixed on the spot as he carries the parts. Just something to consider as readily available parts can make future repairs much quicker.

No I have had to get a washer dryer due to space issues and I HATE it. Creases everything up really badly. Grrrrr

LG 9kg drum direct drive - awesome. Has got us through a minimum of a load a day for the past 3 years. Washed duvets, silks, woollens, sportswear, heavily stained baby clothes.

Miele, absolutely love it, not sure what the maximum load is, 7kg or 8kg. The cycles are fantastic and speedy too.

Has anyone bought their machine in the last year? What's the model number of your Lg machine Floralnomad?

Yes, it's an ISE with a 10 year warranty. Got fed up of Hotpoints etc only lasting a couple of years. The retailer I bought it from said I wouldn't see him again (i.e. they don't break down), as did the electrical repair guy I used for previous machines/dishwasher etc. He rated it much more highly than Miele even.
I LOVE my John Lewis washing machine.....
so much that i bought another (when i moved in with OH I let my house so kept my old JL washing machine with that house..... when his washing machine (it was awful i hated it) died i replaced it with the next model JL washing machine up... its brilliant... and doesnt take forever to do a full 6kg wash either
LG direct drive 8kg Even sings a song at the end to let you know its done

I don't I'm afraid, I'm not in the UK either. Second had ones are well worth looking at.
MInes 6 now and as good as new, never had the tiniest problem ,toutches wood>. MIll replaced hers when it was 15, not because there was anything wrong with it, just 'cause she's a snob.

Lg direct drive here also and its great. So quiet compared to most so great if it is on the kitchen like mine rather than a utility

Mine is a 7kg ,and I don't think they make the exact model anymore ( just looked online) . I know they do 6kg ones ,and I agree they are very quiet.

My Bosch machine beeps at the end of the cycle. It is SO ANNOYING. Check whether any machine you plan to buy does this, I wish I had. Other than that great machine.
Also, key features for me are being able to have any programme run at any temperature. I had a machine once that had a separate temperature setting and I loved it.
I think that hotpoints aren't great, and candy is the same machine essentially.
