I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

I am a tad envy at these bra sizes. Considering the amount of time I spend doing nowt I just don't understand why I'm not thinner wink

Freakoid - I have seen references throughout mn about shred but I have no idea what it is. Well done with getting more toned.

JKS - thanks for the portage info. I did not know that facility existed but it sounds helpful. As part of my job I fill out alot of forms, sometimes it is easy to forget how daunting it must be for people who don't do them all the time, never mind for something as important as your own DCs welfare.

Ali - welcome back, all slatternly behaviour goes unjudged.

Mini - enjoy your naice lunch.

I'm away to hit the housework whilst trying to remember my distant past of naice lunches and leisurely trips round the naice shops.

JKSLtd Wed 06-Feb-13 09:50:46

Mini sounds like you're having my birthday for me grin

Never mind I have London day out plans next week which include new baby cuddle, bra shopping & general mooching in covent garden smile

I'm good at form filling but the tough stuff is when you have to be negative about your child, list the things they can't do etc. as parents we prefer to think of all they can.
Dla form is a bitch.

Minimammoth Wed 06-Feb-13 10:16:18

Sympathy for form filling JKS.
I have tried to ignore all the bra size talk, as it makes me feel huuuuuge. I presently carry at least a stone and a half over what I should be. No hormones and low thyroid function does not help. I have just started Pilates, so am hoping to regain a waist. I have always done Yoga, and was pleased that the Pilates showed that I have some core strength. Keep going Freak is my advice, it's the only body you got, look after it.

Alibabaandthe40nappies Wed 06-Feb-13 10:24:02

Happy Birthday JKS! grin

I am envy at time sans children. Really need to sort some out for myself.

Part of the reason I've been AWOL is that I have trapped a nerve in my neck. I'm getting loads of referred pain into my little fingers, down my arms and across my collarbone. Also seem to have got a cold and a sore throat <whole violin section> On the plus side I have lost 4lbs this week because chewing is painful grin

Cleaner is here today to do kitchen, bathrooms and upstairs floors. I need to do the rest - DS1 has a playdate this afternoon and i've invited the Mum to come along with her toddler.

TO DO
Advance laundry
Finish clearing kitchen and run DW
Tidy and dust in living room and dining room
Remove DS2 from in front of Thomas the Tank Engine hmm

More laundry

Got a full on day today. A bit officey.
Going to a dinner tonight and am supposed to be wearing a 'cocktail' dress.hmm What does that mean exactly? Heelllp.
Does it just mean I don't have to wear a long dress? Am not supposed to wear trousers? I don't think I have a b****y cocktail b****y dress.
Grump.

JKSLtd Fri 08-Feb-13 13:24:10

LOL Mini you sound like me when I have to get dressed up. I think you don't have to wear a long dress but you can if you have one already.
I would think more knee length is cocktail but what to i know?!

<whispers> we have an event at somewhere rather central in London with some rather well-known folk in March, I've ordered a knee-length dress from Asos that I hope will do the job, though I have to think about shoes, tights, jacket, etc <sigh> I don't really do dressing up!

DS2 off school today for teacher training, been to usual playgroup & to a SN group that some of his classmates were going to. He's happy with Thomas on tv now.

TO DO:
dw empty & reload
wm empty & reload

SlatternismyMiddlename Fri 08-Feb-13 16:35:46

Mini - sorry if I'm too late in the day to contribute. Cocktail traditionally meant knee length but nowadays you can wear long as long as it is not full on formal. I would only wear trousers if you had a very bling top/jacket to dress them up. Handy thing to remember - even the most boring/average dresses can be fantabulous with the right accessories. Have a fab evening while I sit in front of my tv with a glass of wine watching Corrie remembering a time I used to get dressed up to go out.

JKS I want to know more about, whispers, March smile

JKSLtd Fri 08-Feb-13 17:50:14

Well it involves being presented to a certain lady & her consort wink
it's a DH work thing really but still, exciting!
May get a few glasses of champers out of it, no food apparently, so a good dinner needed after smile

My Asos dress didn't fit, boo hiss. WIll link to it and maybe get the S&B ladies on the case for similar.

this was the one I fancies, the 8 didn't fit as in too small and the 10 didn't fit as in too big in the boob dept.
But I really like the style.

cikecaka Sat 09-Feb-13 08:50:49

Oh lovely dress JKS,

Loads to do, feeling mildly better, hosted a tea party last night for my Dsis 50th. Finished up about 11 so off course - headed straight to bed.

Small list first and then add to it

Unload Dishwasher/Load Dishwasher
Clear Table
Breakfast for DD3

Minimammoth Sat 09-Feb-13 09:21:18

Well the ladies at my do, many fairly elderly(it was a retirement) turned out in everything from knee length to full length and even a full blown evening gown which did look very OTT. I wore my phase eight, silky frill number, with a bit of jewellery. I felt ok. It was v. boring with speeches after the dinner.
Foggy cold day here.
Have a nice weekend everybody

Reload dishwasher
Wash remaining dishes
Load of Washing on
Counters
Dust tv room
