I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Having an office day. Trying to be smiley. Number crunching with DH. Our brains work very differently.
Do you think I can safely put Xmas cards into recycling and not feel guilty that I have not made gift tags, or saved the pretty ones to make my own collage cards next year? I'll be brave. Grit teeth emoticon.

cikecaka Wed 30-Jan-13 11:35:55

Have let DD3 stay at home today as she was still awake at 10.30 last night. She woke at 10 this morning but the weather is wet and wild so I wouldn't walk her in!

SlatternismyMiddlename Wed 30-Jan-13 12:36:11

Hello.

I am off work today which is a good thing as both my DCs have taken poorly. I've been up half the night and down to the doctors this morning. Of course by the time we saw the doctor DS had perked up no end and was positively beaming, typical!

As I thought that the doctor might have been coming for a home visit (seriously, was I drunk that I thought this might actually happen?), I did a quick scoot around this morning, shoving things out of sight. The house actually looks ok, just don't look inside the spare room or open cupboards.

DDs watched a film this morning which allowed to me to get some work I had brought home from the office done.

Mini -I feel your office pain. DH and I definitely think differently and I find it very hard to be patient - I could never be a teacher. I try to keep our brain storming sessions separate (for the sake of our marriage smile).

JKS - glad you got your boiler sorted, you don't want to be without it in this weather.

Cikecaka - still on a roll I see!

Alibabaandthe40nappies Wed 30-Jan-13 12:39:23

Mini - is there somewhere locally to recycle them? I thought they couldn't go in normal recycling due to quantity of glitter/gold/silver/stuck on bits etc? I could very well be wrong grin

JKS - phew about the boiler. Our gas fire had started doing odd things a couple of weeks ago and all it needed was a service.

My cleaner comes on a Wednesday, so I've mainly been tidying and getting some laundry done.

TO DO
Finish meal plan and online order for Friday
Lunch once DS2 has finished his nap
Advance laundry
Check u-switch etc for a new utilities deal
School run
Snack, reading, chat about DS1's day
More laundry
Boys tea
Clear up and tidy downstairs
DH home a bit early?
Bathtime and stories
Our dinner
TAX RETURN
Prod DH about SIL's birthday present
Catch up on Sky+? (dependant on above)
Clear up and get the kitchen ready for the morning
Bed

JKSLtd Wed 30-Jan-13 12:42:50

DONE:

ineffectually mop up DD in the car hmm

Minimammoth Wed 30-Jan-13 16:26:01

Right. Guilt and cards into the recycling. We have super multi recycle collection which takes everything. So am sure it can manage a bit of glitter.
