I thought it was time for a new Autumnal thread for all slatterns.

This thread is welcome to all who like to write lists or have loads of jobs to get done or if you need a kick up the bum for motivation. Also good for support with relationships, random advice on moths and birthday cakes!

We welcome new slatterns, post your lists here.

Back in a sec with my list.

Arghhhhhhhhh

Dh came home early a good thing you'd think....

So he said he'd get ds1 & take him to mcds drive through to get 3 meals. I get everything ready at home...
He managed to order 3 happy meals with no chips?!?!?! How do you even do that?

He can be so utterly useless at times I do wonder how he holds down a job...

FreakoidOrganisoid Thu 24-Jan-13 20:21:20

Annoying JKS, did he at least get carrot or fruit bags instead?? Or did they just not put them in? I'd have gone back and complained I think.

I hate weds and Thurs, I don't stop yet achieve nothing.

Mine and bf's anniversary tomorrow shock grin

SlatternismyMiddlename Thu 24-Jan-13 21:15:12

Ooooh, how long Freakoid? (Yes I am a nosy cow). What are you doing to celebrate?

My DD is poorly so not sure what, if anything, I will get done tomorrow. The house isn't too bad tonight so hopefully I can just maintain tomorrow (who am I kidding!).

The weekends nearly here smile.

JKSLtd Thu 24-Jan-13 21:40:14

He got carrot bags instead of chips. I would order them as well as personally...and he didn't need to get carrot as we have all sorts of veg/salad/ at home.
luckily there was some leftover pasta to nuke and the kids seemed happy enough so it was a storm in a teacup but honestly!
the man amazes me.

cikecaka Fri 25-Jan-13 09:37:25

That would annoy me too JKS, DD3's Godmother picking her up from school so hope to achieve something

Happy 1st Anv Freak, delighted for you! After a very productive start this morn, I didn't get much else done bar making lunch hmm

JKSLtd Fri 25-Jan-13 13:14:56

Awww, happy 1st anniversary <cute> grin

He didn't mean to miss out the chips, he tried to ask for the normal happy meals + carrots, but somehow managed to mangle the order up to carrots instead of chips.
And he said he had to go round twice as he thought you ordered at a window not the machine thingie.

I would say, aww bless him, he obviously doesn't go there much but he does! for a coffee and breakfast that he thinks i don't know about on the way to work whenever he drives hmm

He often says the total opposite of what he means, it's very confusing, i have no idea how his colleagues cope with him!

FreakoidOrganisoid Fri 25-Jan-13 14:20:46

Am failing grin

Guess I will hoover downstairs at least...tht generally makes the place look better (and I have done the litter tray so it smells better too)

SlatternismyMiddlename Fri 25-Jan-13 14:42:09

Freakoid - step awaaaaaay from the washing machine. It's your first anniversary, go beautify yourself. Have a lovely dinner tonight.

JKS - it's not the same thing as your DH but I have a habit of getting ALL my white goods mixed up. I will say things like - put the laundry in the dishwasher, put the dishes in the washing machine, the cups in the tumble. I'm not sure but in my head they are all interchangeable! Luckily DH has got used to it.

Nothing done today as my little one is poorly. Was down at the doctors this morning and just about to head down there again.

JKSLtd Fri 25-Jan-13 14:58:45

Fair enough swapping things around, I think saying the total opposite is tricky though. If he did it 100% then you'd know to always do the reverse, but it's not consistent, I think inside his head must be a very strange place! I said I'd love to spend one day (no more!) in there, thinking as he does, seeing the world as he does - it must be a very muddled up place! grin

Freak - yes chill, beautify, nail polish, etc smile

Freak - how old is your DS and is he still waking early?
Slattern - how old is your poorly one? Hope he's better soon.

Think we are going to miss out on the snow, again, sigh.

FreakoidOrganisoid Fri 25-Jan-13 14:59:13

Its ok slattern, i am sitting down with a coffee with squirty cream on (how to negate the exercise I have just done in one cup!).

Decided there's no point doing the floors til dc have eaten.

FreakoidOrganisoid Fri 25-Jan-13 15:03:12

Same as yours I think jks? Was 5 in Dec. Yup still an early waker, always has been. Was 515 this morning but is usually any time between 5 and 6, sometimes earlier. I think he has slept past 6 a handful of times but it is rare. DD on the other hand would happily stay in bed til 9!

JKSLtd Fri 25-Jan-13 16:09:15

Yes same as ds2, and dd is the same as yours, loves her bed!
She's 21months now.
Ds1 (6) is somewhere in between.

How was was your dinner Freakoid? (I want details smile)

JKS - could you imagine if we all had to live in our OH's head for the day? I think I would be terrified about what I might find out grin.

Cikecaka you are on the ball early this morning. I'm still in my pjs.

My DD is 3 and I'm hoping her fever has now broken. She certainly seems on better form this morning but is still running a bit of a temperature. I suspect she might crash and burn this afternoon.

List for today

Unload dishwasher
Repack dishwasher
Wash saucepans from last night
Clean counters
Put load in washing machine
Iron
Clear kitchen table
Make dinner for tonight
Make pasta sauce for freezer
Freeze chicken in fridge

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday.

cikecaka Sat 26-Jan-13 12:19:24

Need to go and have a shower, have little motivation. My friend is looking for us to visit this aft but I don't know if I want to go

Minimammoth Sat 26-Jan-13 17:35:02

I have had a very productive day, for a change. Bought an old wardrobe at auction last week and have spent all day rubbing it down and given it an undercoat. So tomorrow nice flat top coat and presto new wardrobe, actually made of wood, from trees. Hope it actually fits in room hmm

Minimammoth Sat 26-Jan-13 17:36:42

Forgot to say that this little venture creates its own list.
Move furniture round
Shift boxes
Sort shoes and move shoe rack
Sort clothes and put in new wardrobe.

JKSLtd Sat 26-Jan-13 17:49:17

Mini - I am a sucker for old real furniture. My current fave piece is a Freecycle 'gentleman's wardrobe' that is just perfect for kids clothes, it has DS1's in at the moment. I really want an identical one for DS2 but they for ££ on eBay.
I would love to rip out the nasty peach fitted nonsense we have in our bedroom and swap for real big old proper wardrobes. But the fitted ones are in perfect condition and prob cost mega-bucks so we can't justify ripping them out, yet.

Busy day here,
5.15 start
DS2 footie with DH + food shopping
DS1 out bowling with Young Carers
quick visit to aquarium with DD
toy shopping with both boys
friends for cuppa & boys to play
home for tea

I've done something to one hip and am in pain, ow.

Nothing major left to do today so am on the wine already smile

Tomorrow:
poss swimming
DH out for a work thing in the afternoon
ironing, esp school clothes
pack school bags

Spring sorting:

Mine to finish

This is A gentleman s wardrobe I think. Although has full length hanging space. Was amazed at how mich they are on eBay. Mine was£43. Look for local Auction rooms.
What have your done to your hip? Am off to open wine now.
